Rotors install...

My car vibrate during hard braking...and I think is time to replace front and rear rotors....so is it a easy job?? or very difficult?? Tips??? advice??

The rotor should pop right off after you remove the brake caliper. You changed brake pads before, right? :)

Pretty easy. Unless there's alot of rust on those caliper bolts. I did mine in less than an hour.

1. Parking brake engaged, jack the wheel up.
2. Take off wheel.
3. Behind the caliper are two (12mm I think) bolts that hold the caliper on, They are kind of long. Take those off.
4. Take caliper off and let it rest on something, DON'T LET IT HANG BY THE BRAKE LINE.
5. Take old rotor off, put new rotor on and check brake pads for wear.
6. Put caliper back on.
7. Put wheel back on.
8. Put car back down.
9. Pump brakes until firm again.


This was an abridged version, and you may need a C-clamp to compress the caliper.

You missed out on the rotor buy! Those would have lasted you a good long while. I missed out on getting frozen rear rotors. D'oh!

I'm lucky, I have a climate-controlled shop to work in with in-ground hydraulic lifts. I'm putting my new brakes in Thursday. Did you know STi made a 2-pot rear brake kit for the GCs? Sweetness :D
