BMW Isetta Hits the Autocross, Nearly Tips Over :) (VIDEO)

I shot some footage of a rare old BMW Isetta hitting up the autocross and she almost rolled over

    Check it out!

that was fun to watch, I can't quite figure how he saved it, did he lean out of it? was the bump force enough to right it? It looks as if he were to hit the breaks it would have fliped....

    IDK.

Looks like it, I suppose. Wasn't enough force to flip it all the way, and the rebound from hitting the pavement was enough to kick it back upright.

Suppose that's a safety feature. lolz

It looks to just hit the chassis and flop back down. I doubt it is uncommon in that type of car.

I still dont understand why you need to wear a helmet for that.

So you can bump your helmeted head against the top of the car when you climb in. Really - the fastest car went up the hill at Afton Alp at 80 mph with no guard rail and a 50 ft ravine with trees and a creek at the bottom. The autox was just at the start. One car went off the road and hit a tree. I think safety and insurance reasons, a helmet is a requirement.

he counter steered... watch the front wheels.. when it tipped he turned to the direction it was tipping to throw the momentum back the opposite way... simple dynamics...
