Buying a new car tomorrow. Needs clutch and wheel bearing soon. Possible other things of course.

Dan (turboturtle) used to do work for me from his garage, but moved away. :-(

    Thanks for any help!

    Your car is swapped right?

Just got back from Madison. The car didn't quite make it back. Parked in st Paul at a friends house. Wheel bearing was smoking and car started squirming.

Was it a bearing smoking or a seized caliper? If the bearing, the hub is cooked at this point and a junkyard hub/bearing would be the best option (maybe replace the bearing in the hub too).

Would love to help, but I'm busy for the next two weeks with no time, and after that still probably overly busy :(

It was a mild smoke. This was a 5 hour drive remember. Rear passenger side (drum brakes) was smoking after the car started to get loose after 4 hours of driving. Drove another 10 miles to st Paul. The car was purchased knowing of the bad bearing. Not sure if I did more damage... I'm NOT mechanically inclined at all sadly. Not a good quality in a guy who loves cars...

At this point you'll probably want a new axle as well. Things you'll likely need:
    Bearing (obviously)
    Seals
    Lateral bolt
    lateral bushings
Maybe an axle. They are NOT cheap. (rears are very uncommon)
    Possibly a rear drum/shoe.

Well the fun will begin there. Maybe I should consider a rear disk swap?

I have a rear axle from my 98 auto that I swapped out. They should be the same. Let me know if you're interested Laserblue.

Thanks. Got a friend of a friend working on her. Rear is toast. Wheel just about came off completely. Lots of work to be done, but he's got some parts readily available.
