I'm looking for some mat black vinyl to cover the chrome on the trim below the side windows. Also for some pre cut taillight tint covers. Curious as to where members have bought vinyl/supplies in the past and recommendations for vendors, websites things like that. suppliers are only as good as their reviews in my opinion. Thanks in advance!

For the vinyl overlays talk to flawless front ends.
For vinyl pants talk to tangledupinblu.

Tried plastidip several times and it never turned out the way I wanted. The combination of the chrome/rubber construction of the trim makes for a fugly outcome EVERYTIME and I'm done with it. Vinyl is the next easiest application IMO.

So I sign up for an account and use the E-store to purchase what I want - which I'm not sure what product to get for my application. Help the helpless :)

They are in Saint Paul. I go directly to their warehouse to pick up what I need. The guy that works the pick up desk in there is super cool and will know what you're looking for. They also have catalogs of the materials they carry. I don't have my product books handy at the moment, otherwise I'd tell you exactly what to ask for.

So if I roll in there and talk to dude at the desk he can hook me up on the spot when all I have is a notion of what I need? I know, a lot of questions.. I like to be prepared

Yeah. What he will likely do is whip out the catalogs and let you pick what you are looking for. Then he'll go back into the warehouse and see if he's got it. You buy it by the yard, so all prices quoted will be for 36" long by whatever width dimension he's got. Usually they will have 18" and 24" wide widths so you aren't buying big stupid amounts of material for piddly jobs. Measure the longest dimension you need to cover. As long as it is under 36" in length, a yard will probably do you. You can also play it safe and get 2 yards, but that's ALOT of material for hand cut cover parts.

Ok that info is good to know. Do they sell the supplies for application such as a squeegee and whatever else I would need or do I need to order that stuff online?

Yeah, they carry all the tools there as well. But you will probably want to ask the guy what you need. It isn't a store like Michaels or anything. It's a dude at a desk in a warehouse. It's meant for people that do it professionally, but they wont turn away business. Just be prepared to ask questions, they wont kick you out for doing that. I recommend you get some transfer tape and a squeegie. Transfer tape is just giant sheets of masking tape really, but you will need it to get a good application. You will also want to get some Xacto handles and #11 blades from Michael's art supply or the hardware store. A bottle of rubbing alcohol to cleanse the surface you are applying the vinyl to, and some dust free paper towels.

Midwest sells cut lengths. You don't have to buy a whole roll.

Yeah, dude. Super easy, right in St. Paul, right off the freeway. Their parking lot is a third world bombing range, but they have everything I've ever needed when I've needed it.

If you have any extra, I'd be happy to take it off your hands. I have the same problem. I hate the chrome on the windows.
