So I was told that 08 wrx, the gaskets tends to leak at the intake manifold during freezing temperatures, and my car has been choking and my check engine light has been going off. I was wondering if swapping my manifold and gaskets would resolve that issue.

Can I swap any year sti intake manifold onto my 08 wrx?

That happened to @tehfuzz with his 08 wrx and I believe the dealership replaced his gaskets and it was fixed.
Not sure about what years gaskets fit. 08 is kind of an inbetween year.

Sounds like something I should do, but I wanna swap out my manifold, to a different material manifold. I dint like that plastic.

Vangj, I had a few problems that I was dealing with at the time. The "stealership" said that the gaskets on the upper and lower intake manifold were practical maintenance kind of thing. That they would only leak when it was cold out as was stated earlier. I had a few other things that they might want to check. I had a rip in my turbo inlet boot , and a seal that was leaking and needed to be replaced.

Its good to check all the obvious crap first like cleaning your sensors and what not unless you know the gaskets are cracked. Also, if you still have a warranty it wouldnt hurt to call them up to see if it is covered.

Swapping the intake manifold requires replacing everything from the turbo all the way to the heads. (turbo, intercooler piping, intercooler, throttle body, intake manifold)

You're better off bringing the car in and having the gaskets done for free.

I agree with the above. Getting new gaskets will likely fix the problem. In 09 they switched to a slightly more robust gasket. See here:

To swap to a metal STI manifold it will require quite a few parts and is likely not worth the cost. Here's a very comprehensive list:

Unless you have a lot of other big plans for the car I definitely wouldn't even consider doing this.
