Road Trip!!! I'm heading down Wednesday for 100AW. I have room for a passenger (no country and western, no smoking). Returning Sunday. The organizers are having a hard time rounding up volunteers and they could really use your help. It would suck to cancel stages due to lack of volunteers. Rooms are getting tight but I bet they would help you find one if you mentioned that when registering. Please, help. http://www.100aw.org/ Yes its far to Licking, Missouri (not kidding, real town), but I'd only be goofing off in MN if I didn't go and its a ton of fun! Plus Mike, LegacyPGT, will be running his newly assembled WRX in its first event. I don't want to miss that! That boy can drive... You can't get closer to the action without entering the event. Here's proof pics from Sno*Drift of me working timing at Stage 1 starting line, it really wasn't that cold. I also got to drive stages 1, 6 and 15 (twice) before or after the competitors. Very fun and snowy. I also had time to hang out at tech inspection and stop in at the service park on Saturday and get some Subaru swag and a t-shirt from the Bare Foot racing team.
The bare foot racing guys are GREAT. I pulled them out of the woods 2 years ago when they wrapped their car around a tree. Russ
that would be awsome... would love to go but i have to work... im sure they would love to have a EMT work the event, hope you can find someone to go
It's going to take the better part of Wednesday to get there, Mapquest says 10 hrs 52 min from Rogers to Licking, MO. I'll be leaving Rogers around 8 a.m. It goes pretty fast, even though I usually go only 5 over. I'd like to get a video camera to set up and let run on a tripod at the starts and finishes for some cool footage.
Watching you throw a rooster through 3 gears out of corners always makes me smile Mark. Hey Mark... Can you recommend the best route to Licking, MO? Thanks...
I don't know where Licking, MO is. Is this somewhere you need to go to work or where you are staying or what? To get to the general area of Salem, I take I35 to Des Moines, get to eastbound 163 and then follow 63 south all the way to Rolla, MO and then 72 from Rolla to Salem.
Licking, MO is where my hotel is. I'm staying at the one with the Laughlin O'Sullivan rate. It's on 63 so, what you've said will work out great. Thanks.
I'll be there fo sho. I'm going to try to get a media vest for cpd, but I should probably ask if that's alright first
