Up for sale is my good old 1988 Subaru DL that I brought over from Portland, OR two years ago. It's served me well so far, however, some unfortunate issues beyond my ability to fix have forced me to seek out a Subaru enthusiast/ mechanic who can take it from here. Here's the good: As you can see in the pictures, this car has made it from Oregon to San Fran to Minneapolis. Had an engine rebuild around 250,000 miles. Has proved very trustworthy over the years! Excellent body condition except for a few dents - very little rust (has only been through one MN winter) Transmission is solid Push button 4WD - best ever! Here's the bad: The water pump failed on me the other day and caused the engine to overheat. The result: the head gaskets are leaking again. There is a small crack in the engine block that has historically leaked coolant as well. It has been temporarily JB welded. Technically, you could do an aluminum weld to permanently fix it without damaging the engine. Here's what she needs: This car is an ideal candidate for an engine swap job since the body is in great shape for it's age. I simply can't afford the time or money to do this, however, if you are a Subaru mechanic looking for a great project and can keep her alive, my priority will be to sell the car to you!
