2002 Red WRX Sedan w/ built Axis EJ257

THANKS FOR THE INTEREST BUT THE CAR HAS SOLD

I've done a few things since last "sale". And I apologize to those of you who may have been interested last time, family situation is now pushing the sale.

Here's an updated list of the car's specs.

I've got a Red 2002 Subie WRX sedan. Here's a list of mod's. Only disadvantage is the car is in Madison, WI. But I could meet in the cities or part way if a buyer was serious. The body has 105k on the clock, and the motor was build when the odometer said 92k.

    • 2.5 Axis stage 2 block bored 0.030 over (100mm bore) [build done by former race car shop owner, name/info provided upon request]
    • 100mm oversized Mahle pistons
    • STI rods / crankshaft
    • ACL HX series main and rod bearings (52mm journals for 2.5L, X series bearings providing more clearance for additional oil flow)
    • 2.0 heads
    • 0.041 Cometic brand head gasket
    • Modified WRX injectors flowing at 820 cc/min (cleaned and tested by RC Engineering)
    • 3” free flow JGT 500 stainless steel exhaust with fiberglass wrapped downpipe
    • HKS turbo timer
    • LC-1 wide band O2 sensor by Innovate motorsports with installed computer monitoring port
    • Installed Autometer volt / boost gauges with red lighting
    • EGT gauge / autometer dash bezel (not yet installed)
    • TD04 turbo
    • WRX top mount intercooler
    • Ported, polished and ceramic coated WRX headers
    • TGV Deletes with blades removed (all sensors are still in place, but tuned to remove CEL)
    • Cold air filter
    • Boston audio crossover/speakers in the front door
    • Alpine Alpine CDA-9883 head unit with iPod cable
    • Jensen A1000 2 channel amp
    • APS turbo inlet
    • AVO Wastegate Actuator
    • Optima red top battery
    • Helix Up pipe
    • Walbro 255 fuel pump
    • GM boost solenoid controller
    • Raammat sound deadener
    • Recently tuned by RS motors, dyno’ed at 200 HP, toss a bigger turbo on and they said it would break 300 HP easily
    • All new Firestone Firehawk GT tires Feb 08
    • Carbon fiber hood scoop (I think it’s Seibon)
    • Cobb short throw shifter with new bushings (bushings still need installation)
    • Cobb heat shield
    • Front / left bearing, hub and ball joint done at 105k

I'd consider pulling the AVO waste gate actuator, the Alpine stereo (replacing with the stock), and the CF hood scoop (replacing with stock)

Would like to trade for a lesser expensive Forester/Outback plus cash, UNLESS I can convince my wife to trade in her Mazda3 then i'll go for a similarly valued vehicle.

Here are a bunch of pictures

i think sedona red is the term
    http://www.me.mtu.edu/~nsshirey/Images/02WRX/02_WRX_right_side_on_trailer (Large).jpg

there wasn't previously a bigger turbo, i bought the car with a blown motor (the axis stage 2) rebuilt it and put it back together. not sure what the kid i got it from had planned for it. i almost had Lee at RS Motors put an FP Green in it. Lee said that would put me around 320hp.
my wife wants a bigger turbo in it, but money's tight now :-(

Too bad the tranny won't, lolz. :p

Either way, depending on the asking price, this could be a sweet car since a ton of the leg work has already been done. Toss in either some PPGs or a 6-speed and a new snail, and this thing would be a beast.

Here are some pictures. I'm not positive I want to sell it, and I don't even know what it's worth to be honest. According to KBB's retail value it's worth $12,500, but with the mod's and the new engine I'd hope i could get more then that. Am I smoking crack? What would you guys say would be a reasonable asking price?

if you PM your email address to me, i'll take a video of the car tomorrow, may even make an accelerating pass so you can hear it. I'll upload it to my file server and email the location to you.

The exhaust is a JGT500 exhaust system I found doing a google search, but I'll get you some good info tomorrow in the daylight

kbb is not 12.5, its 11.5 for my car with less miles. mods take away from the vehicles value anyways. (not saying its not realistically worth that much money) i just cant believe it only made 200 with the stock turbo anways.

I ran kbb again and i'm looking at it now, says $12,485. Anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If someone feels it's worth a million dollars to them then that's what they'll pay, KBB/Edmunds/NADA are just average prices from what has been paid at auctions and other sources.

I've got the dyno sheet from RS Motors if there's any question about the specs on it. I've also got the spec sheets from RC Engineering from when they did the cleaning/testing of the fuel injectors.

Is that a mazda3 turbo w/fmic I see???? And yah, price? meh, with dents and all no-less, I don't know what you'd get for it. Looks kinda like a fixer upper, I'd trade you though? My car is pretty clean, but I could really care less about dents myself (however most people fing HATE dents)

Actually it's a stock 2006, not sure which trim but has an NA 4 cyl (2.3 I think). it's the wifey's baby and she's holding onto it tight.

Are you asking price on the Mazda or Subie?

And thanks for the offer, but not really interested in a mazda for trade.

In fact we had an arguement when she found out people were interested in buying it. I had told her I was thinking about putting it up for sale, but she must not have thought I was serious.

    Hey

Hey there, Im kind of in the market for a good solid wrx that i could turn into a project. I see that you have the need to sell it now but you still have not asked a listing price... you have lots of mods on the car but there is a few dents as a down side... you have to realize that you will never recoup the money you put in for mods and stuff ( trust me i know.. i sold my mint 300zx TT for 2,500 under what i was asking due to the time crunch) but just curious what you would like to get or if you would be interested in any trades... keep on posting because i would like to see what happens with this car... Thanks for your time !

for the heck of it i've got the car listed at 12k on local craigslist. I realize that's high, but last I looked into selling it 11k was close to what I could probably get. worst case is i get a reasonable offer and accept it. with winter right around the corner a good AWD car like this will get some interest

what kind of trades can you offer? i'd like rifles, but can't think of anything else but would be open to offers

yea. she actually wanted me to put the bigger turbo on when RS Motors did the tune and i'm sort of kicking myself for not having done but but $ is a bit tight. otherwise i'd be all for keeping it.

Sorry, I must have missed something. Are you offering the Blazer in trade? I appreciate it, but I'm actually looking for just the cash, firearms or a less $ car, I don't really want an SUV.

    oops

I must have misinterpreted your ....."with winter right around the corner a good 4x4 will get some interest"
i thought you were refering to the fact that if some one had a 4X4 for trade you would be interested but NM i guess... subarus are not 4x4 they are AWD... big diff...

will consider firearms and/or a less expensive subie in trades + cash.

    thanks!
