:emo: Okay, 04 rex. Typical stage 2 set-up. (BOV, MBC, etc..) okay okay...kidding Seems to have a high idle (1500-1750) when it's warm outside. this is the 2nd time it's happended. Sitting in traffic the car starts to idle high AND rpms are slow to drop between shifts. A/C has not been in use at all. Temp gauge is normal. RPM drop between shifts and idle returns to normal once car is up to speed on highway and/or Engine bay has cooled down. Any thoughts? Again.... normal driving, stop and go traffic, high idle, RPMs slow to drop between shifts. Temp gauge normal, drives normal otherwise.
I heard something about the cruise control cable having something to do with high idle when its hot. It was over on nasioc I'll see if I can dig it up when i have some time tonight. ACTUALLY I think it was a post by walloftv's he'll chime in i'm sure
The factory temp gauges, at least in my experience, don't really move up untill you're REAL hot. Mine didn't budge when I was seeing 235 degrees in some traffic.
Yup, same thing used to happen to my old '04 in extended stop-n-go traffic in the heat. I ended up loosening the cruise control cable and that helped. You might also want to look into coating or wrapping your downpipe. That would probably help also.
I'm going to try your suggestions on CC cable.... I'd love to wrap my downpipe, but would probably make a mess of it. :ugh:
My GF, who also has a 04 wrx came home today and stated her car was idling high too!? I asked her how high and she said 1500-1700 rpm.... What a coincidence! :ugh:
