anybody on here have a 2010 wrx yet? I'm looking at buying one but i'd like some input, beings they raised the hp to 265 now, i'd rather dump $10k into it rather than spend the extra 10k on a sti.

    Any thoughts?

OR anyone who has one yet can you give me some input.

    Thanks.

They did the hp increase in 09 do to low sales on 2008's.

    2008 224hp-226tq

    2009 265hp-244tq

They also fixed the to soft suspension and really bad all season tire problems. That plus really great % deals last year was why I bought a 09 wrx instead of a used sti.
Not sure on what changed from 09-10 I dont think much did others will have to chime in. I do think the limited now has leather seats.

I went from an 06 sti to a 10 wrx and have not regretted it. Stock for stock power is very similar to the older sti and from what I have gathered the newer models respond better to power mods as well, 300+ whp is not unheard of for a stage 2 car. It is a lot more comfortable to drive and there is a lot less road noise, the framed windows probably have a lot to do with that. The stock throw on the wrx is ridiculous but I have a Kartboy SS and that made it a lot more fun to drive. The only thing that I miss from my sti is the 6 speed.

IMO the new wrx is the way to go if you dont mind how it looks. When it first came out in 08 I thought it was the ugliest pos ever but now I have one so I guess it grew on me.

I drove one. I didn't get to feel all of the 265.... but that didn't matter to me. I was more concerned about the throttle transitions during the test drive. I know how they'll handle like.

    I'd get one though!!!!

I just bought 2010 WRX sedan a little over two weeks ago. Never owned a WRX or an STI but have driven a few older ones. I really like the car and to repeat what Mahnster said it is really comfortable, there is a lot less road noise. All the dash lighting is red and looks really great at night. I think it drives really nice and is quite responsive. The hatchback design took a while to grow on me, but I love the look of the sedan. If you can find a sedan I would definitely check it out compared to the hatch. I have been looking off and on for a new WRX for few years now and the 2010 instantly sold me during the test drive.

You could have felt all the 265 ...you just didnt ask!

I am very happy with my car, by the way. I took it to the track and managed a 13.5 on a hot, humid day. For a stock car I was pretty impressed. The comfort of the car is amazing, i've ridden in a few older wrx/sti's and the way this car rides is leaps and bounds better.

I was considering an STi before I drove a WRX, and dollar for dollar you cant beat the WRX. If i could go back and do it all over again I wouldnt change a thing, except for maybe getting 18s instead of 17s for summer wheels.

I think you're gonna have to paint those. I believe STi's are Aspen White and WRX's are Satin White Pearl.

IIRC only the 08's were aspen white. The 09/10 have been satin white

Congrats on the purchase! I am looking forward to seeing how the conversion turns out

I have an 09 and I love it, it doesn't however' feel quite as tight as say an 07 sti tho. The 09 seems a bit more rolly and soft in hard corners, its not bad tho, Biggers sway bars and braces will def. be my first mods. also interested in seeing how the sti fenders etc turn out!

paint what? and yes 08 sti's were aspen white, then 09 sti's were SWP, now the 2010 sti's are AW again, and the WRX's are SWP....although i dont have a white one at all, so im not sure where your getting that from lol.

Zerosports in Japan actually already did a sti swap and it was featured in a magazine....the front end converstion wont be hard, but if i do decided to do the rear its gonna be sorta tricky, I figured i could just get some sti rear doors then order some replacement rear 1/4's from a sti to weld in but i dont think its going to work that way, zerosports just basically reformed all the sheetmetal in the back of thiers to make it look like an sti rear end with the wide fenders.

2010 STi Special Edition is available in Aspen White, other 2010 STIs are still SWP.
