My wife and I just ordered a 2017 Forester XT Touring this evening. I'm very excited to add a 3rd Suby to the garage! It will be her primary vehicle and will be excellent for when we have kids.

She loves the color blue, so Quartz Blue was the obvious choice, although we had really hoped they'd offer something similar to Lapis this year (or WRB... One can dream!). Also, we chose the black leather instead of the new brown.

It will come with EyeSight 3.0 / Navigation. The only other thing we opted for at this time was the auto-dimming mirror.

Sounds like it should be here in August - I'm hoping it arrives sooner.

Congrats! I don't know if it's a standard thing these days, but my 2015 came with auto dimming side mirrors as well. You want them.

Boo! They are letting you order the 17's already?! I should have wai....

Nah, I'm loving my 2016! Congrats on the purchase, I am loving mine. The 2017's are getting several refinements (many of which are already on the Outback) that will make it an even better vehicle.

+1 for the auto dimming side mirros, they are great. Also, Adaptive Cruise Control is nothing short of amazing :)

Yeah I didn't even think about the auto-dimming side mirrors! Looks like that's an additional option for a couple hundred bucks that I missed. Perhaps I can have that added on to my order today.

They released pricing and started taking orders last Friday! The changes they made for the '17 made us want that over getting a '16 order in before that ended.

Yea, I had a rough idea of the changes before I bought mine. I was a little impatient and I decided that I could live without the updates. The only "update" that was announced for the USDM model that I wasn't aware of was the heated steering wheel option, which would have been awesome. I think I'll survive just fine though!

I think the heated steering wheel will be very nice to have! It should be a nice addition to the "family" and I'll enjoy driving it much more than our Camry.

    Not modding this one ;)

You should be able to add options for a while. I would also recommend the rear bumper proctector

I was planning on just ordering that one after the Forester arrived so I can just pay for it out of pocket.

PPPPFFFFFTTTTT Old Balls Blue!!! Just make sure anything you want is bought with the car so the warranty carries in full, anything after only has a 12mo/12k mi. Get the damn remote start too!

But doesn't the remote start with the push button start (Touring) not work very well?

Good call about warranty with extra options!

They added a long range version, basically uses the keyed RES transmitter. You have one small fob to add, but crazy good range IMO. I thought I told you about it. Ah well.

What does the long range version look like? I'm wondering if I have it...

It just came out. It's the same single button remote as the key start version.

Congrats! I'm excited to see/hear how you like it! We've loved my '14 premium. Good to see so many SJs on MNSubaru!
