2nd ice race time??

Feb ice race!!!

The 2nd ice race will be February 16th-18th but if someone wants to come Thursday that is fine also. Im only going to be takeing deposits for a couple weeks, that way my parents will get a chance to rent the other cabins out to other people. Whoever send a deposit 1st gets 1st choice of cabin and a bed.my paypal is [email protected] . the deposit will be $35 this time just to make things easier, and the price is $35 per night per person.

last year we had the 2nd one on the 24th-26th. so i vote for the second date. gives a little more spacing between the two.

 

i would go for the second date of the two also, gives us a little more time between the races.:biggrin:

 

I think the 23rd-24th might be open if that would be beter

 

I'm out.. will be on a plane to Australia then....

 

Either or... might want the later one though to give my car some recovery time.

 

only bad thing about having it too late is that the lake starts to get slushy. I might be able to get my neighbor to come out and plow it with his grader, either way we will get it plowed somehow

 

yea it was pretty warm the second time last year. but still the 17th shouldnt be bad yet. should still be plenty cold.

I might be able to do this but have to clear it with the wife first. The later probably the better for me.

the North Shore Wheelers usually holds one at one of the members' place in Princeton. but I guess the pond dried up this summer...mind if I invite them? They may only be interested for coming for a day, but it probably wouldn't be more than 5 rigs, 10-12 people...

17th is across the wife B-day... no way do I skip out on her and she said she is too scared to drive fast on ice. I am still working on her but I would say I will not be there for this one.

This next race will be much calmer than the last . I will have the course plowed and marked much better than the last

stoped at the store today and got a bunch of reflectors for the course, as soon as we get some more snow I will be making it

 

well i got my car fixed. so i am in, assuming i can get away from school for it.

also my buddy kevin is wondering if his previous deposit can be forwarded to this coming ice race?

 

My girlfriend would like to come with. she wants to know if it's ok to bring her dogs too (2 english setters).

i'm sure she'd like to know how private the rooms are and what else there is to do.

i'll send the deposit when i have a more definitive answer from her - but i'm pretty sure she'll let me go even if she can't swing it.

I'd like to head up for a second outing. I'll be back in school again, so it may come down to more of if I have a test on the Monday after, lol. It was fun. I felt I partially missed out on the first one coming late Sat. An earlier start and more days would be nice. ...that and snow would be nice, lol.

I'd like to see some minor implementation of some of the things suggested in the first racing thread, having a more organized event, lap timing, etc...basically some structure. I'm sure some of this may have to wait till next year. I don't mind just hopping on the lake and zipping around, but an organized event has its own rewards. Just a thought...
