I thought your fuelling issue was from lack of fuel pressure (pump issue)?

Yeah, he was going to loan me a fuel pressure regulator. Which may help, we'll see.

Sorry, but I love driving my car. Doing that would require the car to be down until:

    A) the injectors are sold
    and
    B) new injectors arrive
    and
    C) tune for new injectors.

Funny you stopped in here, I was putting the own on another MSP3 this morning on my way back from picking up cigarettes. He wouldn't line up next to me so I settled for riding his ass and backing off the throttle constantly so as not to rear end him. It was a black one in Cottage Grove. I really wanted to get along side and spank his ass.

He wanted it. ******* revved his engine at the Phillips66 as I was walking out, then took off like a puss. I got on 70th and quickly caught up with him. We turned left onto Jamaica and he rolled the stop sign trying to get away. He was asking for it. I had to back off of 2nd gear twice to give him room to putz along. Yeah it was bullying, but he was asking for it.

Werd. Some fools think their cars are the fastest ever. I was kinda the same way when I got my WRX, I learned pretty fast that it wasn't as fast as I thought.

The places where sunflower seeds you had pressed against your butt are a delicacy probably don't have "meeeellions" to pay for them. They likely would trade beads or something.

And now back to the topic:

I would like to see a show of hands of how many people would be interested in seeing a BMW 335i in action on some twisties?

:emo: So what was that like at 5/10th. How about +8/10ths at a 1.2mile track with elevation changes, slaloms, decreasing radius corners and wet skidpad?

And in the caring hands of a Subaru driver! LOL

Interesting show of support and interest in discovering what the 335i's potential. I'm sure 210 is just as you described it along with deer and racoon's, opposing traffic and 5.0's.

;) Highway 210 didn't have any 5.0's until someone tried to go deer hunting with their subaru.

Justins car rocks.....especially because of the killer deal he got on it. if he was paying full price then it might be a different story.

If you guys liked 210 then I have some roads for you north of Duluth....maybe next year:yumyum:

Please, I like you, don't become the smug "OMG THE TRACK/AUTO-X COURSE IS THE ONLY WAY TO TELL IF A CAR IS GOOD!" guy on me. A person's definition of potential can be different than another person's definition of potential. Maybe some people could care less how their car performs on a track because they primarily drive their car on the street. How the car performs on the roads they encounter may be their definition of the car's potential.

Honestly, a bunch of lap times is subjective, and the skidpad numbers are just that, numbers. They have no real world application aside from comparing cars...but I don't care about comparing grip numbers with another car. Those numbers are simply novelty to someone that never intends to seriously track their car.

I like you too, LOL I didnt mean to be a smug. And your right, and I completely agree with your point. I dont want to put anyone on the spot and have alot of respect for other's point of view. I just thought with all this talk and oh my car this and that this would be a great opportunity to have some fun in a controlled and safe environment, this car has alot to offer from reading the reviews. No point intended, not out go make a fool of anyone. I could careless about the outcome, I'm just extending an invitation and wanted to bring some Subaru support to more events. Keep in mind our events are not racing events nor do we teach racing.

I'd be more than happy to have another performance driving refresher. It never hurts. But I'm sure you'd toss me from the track due to the noises my brakes make. I need new rotors. The car stops fine, but it makes terrible sounds doing so. I'd be more than happy to come and flog Justin's car though, lol.

And yeah, I'm gonna need to work alot harder if I want to start sounding like a SMUG, we dont sound nothing alike at all. LOL

on the other side of the coin you have just as many "OMG STREET RACING/DYNO SHEETS ARE THE ONLY WAY IF YOU CAN TELL IF A CAR IS GOOD" people on forums that are also difficult to deal with. Sure I understand that people drive on the street more, but if you really want to measure the accuracy of a gun, you can plink on some cans in the back yard, or you can take it to the shooting range. The other nice thing about tracks is people keep records to filter through the fish tales you hear on the internet.

I see using either argument too much as being dangerous.

I won't be at the track Sunday. Kids have a Halloween party that I signed on to before I realized that was DCTC weekend.

    When is the next event?

Last time I checked northstar they only had the teen challenge (or whatever it's called) scheduled.

Actually, there are just too many variables each way.

A dyno should just be used as a measurement tool.

The track is totally dependent on the driver. Even the same driver on the same track in the same car will have different times each lap.

The 1/4 you may miss a shift, start late, etc.

I dunno, I'd reason any car is only as good as the driver.

The WRX when it was stock. The first time I drove it stock I thought "HOLY ****, this is FAST!" Of course I was coming from a 90' Celica GT-S with a whopping 130hp... So I thought it was fast until I got schooled on the highway a few times by cars I thought for sure I could take.

Now, you pulled on me when I was in 3rd and starting at 4.5-5k rpm and ran out of gear fast and had to shift. The second time I was in 4th and pulled on you until I missed 5th! But still, the 3 is stock, your WRX is far from it in every way!;)

from a roll, 1/4 mile times say different, though the 3 traps faster, which means the 3 is pulling.

Well we had another great Teen Clinic event, made some young girls giggle the whole ride and young boys smile and want to the be next Subaru owner and yes, some BMW driver envious of the Subaru's traction. (think WRC) With the added colder temperatures and after increasing neg camber in the front, oversteer was apparently here but still fairly nuetural. Had spun out twice and had to readjust my driving to acommodate. The biggest compliment I got was that the Subaru ride was just like the Atom. Which is way cool, but honestly that Atom is on awhole different level of handling, but I could see her point as she must of observed me constantly trying to keep the car on the black surface and sideways in the horse shoe.

I was looking forward to give the board a nice review of the 335i, but it was not available. So the next best thing I got to drive was a Porsche Caymann S, brand spank'n new. This thing has soo much grip and it just flys thru the corners. I had to adjust to the wider body to clear some of the double sachain and saloom. Brakes are amazing. And I found out this was a mid engine vechicle, though it was no where to be found. Tucked, hidden under some pretty cover in side the car.

I just wanted to add I had a 18yr old teen who has been taking some of our classes and having seen his driving progress and improve over the years is astonishing. He was my first winter student who just happened to have started driving MT for a week. Now he's as smooth on the course as butter, his RS is just passing guys in his group at BIR and at DCTC he's very quick and in control. He spun out in the back section after coming out of the wet skid pad, he was too hyped up, like the saying "my ear's hear you, but my body isn't listening." So we got that problem fixed really quick. Slowed back down and got back on with the training. LOL

And thats the closing of my summer season, now let the winter season begin. And hopefully I'll see some more Subaru's playing in the snow!

Hope you enjoyed reading about my weekend as I enjoyed doing it. LOL
