there a guy on YOUTUBE who has a 3d printed shift knob and there is a website attached to it that has the plans to make it and such but where does one go to have it printed besides the obvious GOOGLE search any thoughts

Some UPS stores around Minneapolis have our uPrint 3d printers. Def. big enough to print a shift knob. I can send you the STL files. I am not sure how much they would charge either.
