so i did some pulls with nuke to tune the car in third and then now it seems 4th is locking me out i can go into all the other gears fine. its for my 03 wrx and i know my clutch was acting funny, it held the power to red line and everything during the pulls could it be anything wrong with the wire maybe? or do i need a new transmission

There is no electronic lock out, or electronic anything on a 5MT, sounds like 4th is shot, or the 4th gear shift fork is bent. Live with it, or get ready for an overhaul.

Does it grind or anything trying to shift into it. Can you shift down to it. Can you put it in 4th when the car is not moving.

If you have never split the case on a 5mt, I would not attempt it.

It really isn't as tough as it looks. Patience, a photographic memory and a press is all you need to replace gears. If it is a bent fork then you don't need the press.
