Just wondering how much it costs to rebuild a 5-speed transmission (manual of course). Got an old legacy that has a fair amount of life left in the transmission, but 2nd gear synchro's feel rough, and will need to be replaced sometime in the future. Is it more cost effective to pick up a low miles transmission, and swap that in? Car will only have about 3-4 thousand miles a year put on it, so I've got some time, just thought I would start looking now...
Never mind, gear oil change to Extra-S fixed any finickyness it was having with second gear. Shifts almost as well as my forester with 120,000 less miles on it!
