    Its sad when even recent immigrants begin to take our freedoms for granted so quickly. When was going to the grocery store or a restauren when you're hungry, cops to protect you, firemen to come to your house, a house over your head with AC and heat, a car with the same, a government who will give you money if you are in hard times, a military to protect you, good roads, practicing your own religion, being comfortable in your own skin, sports and entertainment, the list goes on...not good enough? I recently read an article by none other than JAY LENO, that was phenomenal, pretty much mirroring my own opinion of our nation as a whole. The US has a 50% demographic of spoiled bitches.

    I've met him, and I'm sure Taras is a nice kid and all.

And anyway, why do people keep talking about me, dont you have something else to do? like maybe work? or read something, like maybe the news about your rights slowly being chipped away by the bush administration or torture or maybe... wire tapping?

    Dude, whatever beef you have with the kid, just keep it to yourself. Bringing someones background and upbringing into the picture and giving them a hard time about that is pretty much the equivalent of making fun of someone handicapped. Give the guy a break.     actually taras, I just got out of the field. I spent the past 48 hours, getting 4 hours of sleep, firing weapons, going over adjust fires, doing route clearance, and then get to have some pompous bitch slap me in a gas station when I was paying for my fuel.

    So while I have a job that has me on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, where I do read, and study, and run practical application, and train, I'm doing it so I dont die, and so my brothers dont die. So we get to come home to families who give a ****, because they dont just look for stuff to complain about.

    There, I realize I am just pissed over the ignorance I have bit my tongue about since he got here. If you look through any thread where everyone else flamed him, I tried to respond thoughtfully. I know exactly why I snapped about this stuff right now. I'm low on sleep, and the temps have been around 110-120 degrees, and I just reached a boiling point when I hear he's still broadcasting this crap.

    Taras, I'm truly sorry I got angry and took it out that way. We are obviously on opposite ends of the spectrum, and you have whatever right you want to say what you want. Just never forget that I also have that right.

    I didn't say I didn't like him, I was just pointing out that without knowing the history of this irritation everyone goes on about, it is hard to grasp why everyone on here wants Taras gone. It isn't just some new thing that popped up recently, this has been going on for over a year and alot of us are fed up with it. And I agree with some people, it does get old seeing it all the time, the bickering. But after a while you get sucked in because it irritates you and you join in.

    It was one year ago, and it is still very fresh in our minds because you continued to act like that long after that thread ended.


    "Serving?" What have you done for your country. Some people have been in this since before 'that' war. And it isn't the war he is fighting to serve you, it is him volunteering to serve you if the need arises. One of the reasons I'm glad I got out is because of people that spit on the servitude of others and spit on people that put themselves in harms way for the defense of the country. I didn't feel like serving those that don't appreciate the people that put their lives on the line for their freedoms and take for granted those that would do so to protect their freedoms. It has nothing to do with any war.

    It's barely been over a year. And I'd drop the quotes around "serving" because they don't belong there. Jack is actually serving his country, he's giving up personal freedoms and years of his life to ensure that the rest of us are able to maintain our standard of living and the levels of freedoms that we enjoy. And if I were you I wouldn't even try and get into that discussion about the war again, and I sure as hell wouldn't be trying to preach any kind of lesson about whether the war is wrong or not with Jack. He's actually doing something for his country, what have you done?

    I read much of that post... it is what it is.

    I don't like judgements made if a person doesn't know me. If we cross paths at one of these meets, you may just find out that I am not a bad dude afterall. Pissy...maybe... mainly with people that judge me over some text on a forum. ? I came out of the closet in rage? Interesting!

    I am very much into women, and Taras has a gf... so if the idea of something like that really gets you goin, feel free to think about it when you are all by yourself. :) I have a date tomorrow, and no it isn't with a dude... so get off my case.. haha

    I have nothing against army at all, i think its a very honorable service. Its just not a good time to be in the army right now. I admire peace keeping forces and National Guard. But what this government is making young men and women do is just outrageous.

    Wow. Just wow...We've already got one of the highest standards of living in the world. That's why you came over here for education, that's why you drive a near-40k car and why you can say the things you're saying. (Ok, that and parents with deep pockets and an inability to prepare their child for the real world) Do you even have any idea of what the Iraq war takes up percentagewise in the Federal budget? Less than 20%. Much less, coincidentally than we spend every year on having to provide health care to illegal immigrants. Your argument has no merit. None. Zip. Zero. Zilch point ****. And ask any Iraqi citizen whether they preferred Saddams rule or where they're at now. I forgot, you still haven't bothered to actually educate yourself or talk to a vet who's been over there and told how grateful the people were that we were over there and making their lives better. Ask any Afghani woman what it's like to be able to leave the house or get an education whether it's better than being kept inside before. Oh, I forgot. It's easier for you to pick up the same brainless chant that every other ignorant halfwit likes to keep spouting whenever the war comes up. Don't let the facts get in the way of your argument, you might make yourself look stupid. Oops...Too late...

You put the smug quotes around the word serving as if to say what Jack, or myself, or any other military person does/did isn't serving but is in effect being part of the problem the government has created or being part of the war. And it is that proverbial 'spitting upon' that is the reason I didn't stay in.

    That money is needed in other places. If you like Afghanistan needs it much more that Iraq. And domestic policies are in need of money. So you say highest standard of living? How about people loosing jobs and houses like crazy in the past few month? And its not getting better. OK, I am really done here. No ban for me this time. I said everything i wanted.
