ok first thing, since im looking for a fender are the impreza rs and wrx fenders the same? does anyone know of a junk yard that has subarus? or how much is it new from a dealer? and since i might have some money left over i wanna do my timing belt. but can i just replace the belt and be fine till the next time? thats all i have money for and i wont have money for any of the other parts for who knows how long. im at about 80,000 miles. any help is good for me
when doing tbelt u should do at minimum the belt and water pump, i reccomend doing belt,waterpump,thermostat,and all the idler pullys. as far as the fenders go what year are you refering to.
as far as i know the fenders are the same as long as the body is the same (sedan to sedan, wagon to wagon). you might just be able to do the tbelt only but you might get into it and find the tensioner or idlers need to be replaced (often the case). like jason said, not a bad idea to do the water pump too. tstat can be replaced at anytime though so that's not a big deal (don't need the belt off to do it)
ya forgot to say the year lol, ive got a 03. what goes bad with the tensioner? is it the pully on it?
