Here is my question for you all. My factory warranty runs out here shortly, do I buy the aftermarket warranty from my credit union? My car is modded alot. suspension, tbe, cai, bov, radio. Is it worth it?

You may want to check to see if they'll even cover your car. I've seen aftermarket warranty companies turn down modified cars, and I'd hate to see your put your money into something that wouldn't be valid anyway.

^agree...aftermarket warranties are usually hestiant to fix your car even when it is stock...They usually try to find ways to avoid it, if they can.
I wouldn't even bother...80% they will not honor with your mods

If you can't accept the possible consequences of modding your car, then don't do it.

I have a $1000 deductible in the same way that I don't have an extended warranty. I believe the money I save in premiums will outweigh the money spend on a repair. In the event of having a modded car, I would say you're defiantely going to spend more than you'll save.

I'm not sure what the cost of third party warranties are, but I'd be supprized if you were to save even $300 on a repair.

Gotta pay to play. If you are going to mod your car, expect to repair the broken parts. Fact.

My aftermarket warranty is a joke, I had a rear diff. go out and they didn't want to cover it. They stalled on approval for the repair because they had to inspect the car. they actually had some third party inspector come out. When I called the warranty company to find out what the inspector said they wouldn't tell me a thing!

Later they tried saying my wheel offset and aftermarket exhaust contributed to my diff failure!!?!?! Offset is 45..and exhaust!?!

It's not like my car is junk....it's in great condition and is always super clean and shiney.....

The guys at mntka subaru service really took care of me and got them to finally approve it.

After the repair was finally done the warranty company called me and stated they would have a hard time covering anything else under my warranty...due to the aftermarket parts.

So, would I do it again? Heck no! I paid 1250 for the coverage. but the repair was 1200 something so I got my money back!:)

save your money and pay for it yourself.

Maybe you missed the point of my earlier post. The engine is what you have modified. They're not going to cover that because it's not stock anymore. The transmission/driveline would not be covered because the car is not running stock powerlevels anymore. Suspension mods? Toss that out the window as well.

As it's been stated already...You want to modify your car? Be willing to accept the consequences. If it breaks, it's on you, not Subaru or a third party. They're not the ones who did it, you are. They're off the hook.
