Air les tires?

    Radical new tire design by Michelin. The next generation of tires.

    They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.



    These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.

    The bad news for law e enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires.

    This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on existing technology:

    A. no more air valves...
    B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
    C. no more repair kits.. .
    D. no more flats...

    either am i...i just wanted to make sure i wasnt the only one that doesnt like them...so i wanted to see what everyone had to say about them!

    i didnt think having air in the tires was such a hassle? a flat maybe every 10 years or so?

    it's great from an engineering standpoint
    would work for commuter cars quite well, sans snow
    everything else, it just ain't gonna cut it

    but think about spare tires being made like this...huh? yeah no more flat spare when you DO get a flat....

    Well... Michelin is French. The full name is "Compagnie Générale des Établissements Michelin"

    I'd imagine they weigh more just as run flats do. You have to support that weight somehow...
