Ok, to answer things first, yes I read the previous threads on this issue by using the "Search" button and got some of my answers, but didn't get them all.

I took in my car for an alignment and oil change at BP Subaru. About a half hour in, they say they can't do the alignment because I lowered it and that I'll need a camber alignment kit before they can do it. They said they can't even get aligned with their machine. They also say I'll need it for the front and the rears as well. Now, with all the reading I've done, it seems like the majority of you guys didn't need to get alignment kits to get the car aligned. When I had my car aligned after I put on the springs, I had a buddy do it, but he did it all by hand and knew it wasn't something of a permanent fix. I just finally got around to getting it done professionally.

So, no offense to anyone who works at BP Subaru, but are they pulling my chain? Do I need buy the camber bolt kit to get the thing aligned? The springs I have are Whiteline Control Springs and the car is a '06 WRX TR. If anyone would be willing to do a second opinion for me and even do the alignment, I'd be willing to pay :) Thanks guys.

They're saying you'll need kits to get it to factory specs. You should have gotten a printout. If you did, post it up. Fronts you usually won't need a kit, but, I like negative camber.

Yea, as you said Shibbs, they're trying to set it to spec.

How low is it? Unless you went a few inches, you should be able to get at least a degree of negative camber in front. I put some Eibach camber bolts in the rear ($30) to get the camber where i wanted it, since the bolts are not eccentric from the factory.

It was about a good 1 - 1.25 inch drop all around. Not super low or anything. I know I have some negative camber in the front, but my buddy estimated on it. He was shooting for about -.4 degrees though he was unsure of his accuracy with it. Again, he said to drive it as a temporary thing, but recommended getting it done professionally for peace of mind. The rear bolts are still stock so they aren't adjustable.

Okay, that's not the alignment spec sheet. lol Sorry, should have been more specific. They're probably not pulling your leg, Holly is awesome. You could probably be alright in the fronts, but the rears will be much more negative than is needed. But, without seeing a sheet, who knows. I would give The Alignment Guy a shout. Search for him, can't remember where he's posted at at the moment. And pick up a rear camber kit before you head over to his place. Possibly a front too, if you can return it easily.

Yea, I normally trust Holly and BP Subaru. Just after reading the forums, I didn't expect this that's all. I'll pick up a camber kit for the rear at least and find the alignment guy. Thanks for advice :)

Remember, if you use aftermarket camber bolts in the front, they are in *addition* to the ones that are already there. Don't replace the 17mm ones with 14mm ones as it leads to bad juju.

Check with MA Performance about Whiteline camber bolts. They're pretty good on price, and tend to get stuff in in a hurry. Then take them to Jeff so he can do your alignment right, without all the sissy whineypants stuff you've been getting from the dealership. Support your local vendors.

I suspect I may have had a tad too much of the vino tonight,
    Stuart.
