Ok So I just got done putting in my Beilstien shocks/ Struts. I was wondering if there are any local shops that can do an alignment and also set the ride hight? I herd of Jeff "the alignment guy". Is there any other places to go that are for the most part e-z on the pocket book? I will try and m,ake it out to Lake Calhun today....
Contrary to popular belief, Jeff charges a lot less than any other shop I've been to. I went to him twice to get my car aligned. Both times he asked for such less money that I had to add some tip to it to make it fair for him. If that helps at all. Please do stay off his way when he is working and by all means stir a conversation with him. That makes his job easier and he will get you out quicker.
Contrary to your belief about the popular belief, the actual popular belief is that Jeff does not charge enough for the quality of the service he provides. *Many* of his customers round the bill up.
Good to know a senior member (among many others) agrees with me. I see a lot of fellow members asking for affordable alignment shops. I was trying to reiterate that Jeff's service is more affordable than many other shops such as firestone, tiresplus etc. even if you are just getting a non-performance oriented alignment. Cheers!
27 dollars an hour not bad @ all, especially when you have tons of business. i'm sure the typical alignment pays better than that anyways. next to nothing over head + constant business = :ugh: i have been told by several autocross big hitters he is making a killing, judge what you know off what he made working on 1 car.
If you're good at what you do, you will do well. If you're good and fast, you will do very well. Jeff is good and fast. Besides, what difference does it matter if he's making good money or not? I say he deserves more. He's a great guy. I've been going to him since he was doing alignments out of his garage.
while that may be true, an alignment rack and the machine to go with it can be in excess of $20K... all the money form an alignment DOES NOT pay for that.. he still has bills to pay, laundry, uniform, taxes, taxes, software updates, taxes... so yes he WILL STILL HAVE OVERHEAD just not as much as some like my old Meineke... it was what kill our ass
As stated in this thread and every other alignment thread, go to Jeff. And also as stated above, stay outta his way. Read that: Don't get any closer than the open door way. No matter how handy or knowledgeable you are, it is HIS castle and HE works the magic. You ARE NOT WORTHY. (This is not his perspective, but mine; and it makes everything go very well.) I found Jeff was very nice and personable after the job was done and it was exactly what I asked if he could do. p.s. - Go to Jeff the Alignment Guy.
OK OK JEFF it is.....I was planning on going to him just wanted to see what others had done. Sounds great guys. Ill post my results when able.
are you posting just to post? thanks for the obvious, i just made a statement. thanks for your thoughts here, i'm not sure if you think i'm making negative statements about him or what. either way, THANK YOU for taking the time out of your day to create that gem! excuse me, i meant no over head compared to a 'normal' shop.
Jeff's not making a grip here... he's told me a few times that took a bit of a pay cut to work on his own, but he likes what he does, and offers great service at an absurdly excellent price. and a brand new 20k alignment machine, monthly rent on a shop, utilities, insurance... no business runs without overhead. jeff's is smaller than some, but he's not making bank here. and he does have down times... winter is a pretty slow period... spring/summer/fall around here is the big busy seasons as people make adjustments and tune on their track cars, and make transitions between seasons.
