I was thumbing through my 09 wrx brochure...and I noticed that the STIs come standard with HIDs. I would assume that I could switch out an OEM HID assy out of an STi into my WRX.

    Wrong?

    Thanks,

    Bob

Or you could just buy an aftermarket HID kit for less then $150.

:+1: It's easy and can be done in 20 minutes with an aftermarket HID kit.

There's a lot of arguments on this kind of subject.
Being that you've got halogen projectors right now, you could either buy STI headlights, buy an aftermarket HID adapter kit, or retrofit STI HID projectors into your current housings.
There's a lot of HID aficionados that will tell you that OEM HID systems are the only way to go, and that the HID kits that adapt into halogen systems are bad.
Personally, I believe that if you've got halogen projectors that have a good cutoff already, an HID kit should work perfectly fine for you.

    My $.02

Come down to firestone when people start showing up again (which will be the first snowfall) and check out what others have.

I'm running aftermarket HID's in my car and I don't mind it at all.

+1 for a better explanation then mine. There are many light buff type people who will lambast you for not having the exactly correct projector for HIDs, if you go with a plug'n'play kit.

With that said, I have a kit on my car, and the cutoff and light spread looks great.
