Just started on chan 11. Used to watch this show every saturday as a kid. I hope its as good as the original
they also just showed a teaser comercial for the new knight rider. And showed the new mustang knight rider car
I'm watching. I just saw the teaser too. Can't wait. Two awesome shows made better. (Too bad Kitt is a Mustang) http://jalopnik.com/cars/knight-rid...tv-series-yes-its-a-shelby-gt500kr-327687.php
my teenage boys think the lady gladiators ROCK! I personally wasn't that impressed, but they loved it! Lots of jokes around about HELLGA!
I used to watch that all the time as a kid. Nitro and Turbo were my heroes. Along with the Bushwhackers. (wrestling)
The dialog was absolutely atrocious. Hulk Hogan - "What's your plan of attack on this piramid" Asian guy - "Well Hulk Hogan, I'm going to try to get to the top and win, like a spider monkey!" Was it this bad when I watched it religiously in the early 90's?
Nope...it was pretty badass in its day. I only caught a glimpse at the bowling alley. But after reading the reviews, I'm glad that I couldn't hear any of it. I thought a couple of the new challenges looked pretty cool. Maybe just watch with the mute or with the radio on?
Dudes, come on. Do you guys really remember the original series. It was just as cheesy as the new one. That's what made it great. Al Kaplon as the ref makes up for Hulk Hogan as the host (he's no Joe Theismann). I like the new layout for the eliminator too. In the old one, the cargo net (and sometimes the log roll balance beam deal) was pretty much the only equalizer. Wonder if they'll release a game again too... a Wii version would be a riot.
i agree it was cheesy, but the original one seemed less cut and paste as far as what we see on tv, they would never cut to 1 single player on the eliminator, just show both of them. When they fell off the handbike they would penilize them. Also hangtough seems to be ALOT easier this time around. There seems to be half the distance to the gladiaotor side. The wall also looked a lot smaller and easier, i remember it used to take forever for them to get to the top, and those two girls just flew up that thing.
^yeah, I hear ya about the editing, but the old eliminator took under a minute... remember Mark Ortega winning the championship by like a hundreth of a second? The new one takes 2-3 minutes. Kinda hard to show them simultaneously unless on split screen.
oh i didn't say i wasn't going to watch....i just felt it very forced throughout. keep in mind i was 11 when this went off the air, and i didn't have cable so i could only watch it when we were at sears shopping (as far as i know the only store that played it)
Not impressed with the Hulkster or Lala Ali... Thought there was entertainment value, but please for god"s sake, GET RID OF THE CHEESY CONTENDERS TRYING TO ACT!!!! Contender conversations seemed too planned out and way too much trying to act... Reminded me of a bad soap opera! How about the guy coming back after 14 years since he competed on the old show and nearly breaking down in tears after the eliminator... How passionate!:laugh::laugh:
meh, watching the orginal is painful. I used to watch it as a little kid and thought it was kickass. Then I got ESPN Classic where the classics are on all the time and was like "SCORE". Then i watched an old episode and thought it was quite possibly the worst show ever, ever... My standards have definitely changed. I didn't even want to see the new remake of it. P.s. new Cobra KITT FTW. Cobra POWER
count how many times Hulk says "brother", lol it seems every 5 seconds when hes interviewing guys. The guy that came back after 14 years seemed pretty cocky and still lost haha.
That would make for a good drinking game. Also, he says everyone did an 'incredible' job or 'that was amazing'. Apparently the writers are still on strike. Other than that, I like it. I seem to remember people doing better at Assault.
hahaha, I've only seen the commercial for the show. Is it just me or do most of the guy 'gladiators' look like they are caked in make up?
Who knows, we were kids, everything was cool. I fast-forwarded through 75% of it so I wouldn't have to listen to all the stupid interviews. It still sucked. Ninja Warrior FTW.
