Wow, I got done today installing an amp and subwoofer in my wrx and I must say that Impreza's very easy to work with audio equipment. If anyone is thinking of putting a new radio, subs, amps or speakers, don't waist your money at a shop. Either shoot me an email and I can walk you through it or get in touch with me and I can help in my garage.

I would be willing to help out where I can. I installed for about 13 years.

i agree installing audio equip has been a breeze so far with my impreza, and in my moms legacy too. it was alittle harder itn eh legacy due to anti theft stuff. (hidden screws in ash tray). hopefully i will be putting in new component speakers soon. gonna be interesing though becuase from speakers need 2.85" mounting depth.

Ahh a bit of an old thread, but who wants to help me dynamat the whole trunk, floors, roof and doors :D Seriously the time will come soon and there will be some sound proofing done, I did a bit with my trunk the other day, and it sounds better, but not perfect, and now I really hear the rear deck rattling. Anyone know of any links that can show details to uninstall the seats, carpet, and head liner?

after lots of messing arround w/ trying to design a custom enclosure to sit against the rear seat i think i fount the perfect mtx box for the back of the 04.
it's angled to fit against the seat, and has 3 10" subs...
i'll hollar when it comes in.
    it should JUST clear.
