You should have seen Jim Cox drive his around the rallyX course. He took friggin EVERYTHING off of it. It was like a shoe box with turbo. He even went so far as to take off the rear hatch.

EJ swaps have been done, but it is a fabrication nightmare. It isn't a drop in direct fit like the Impreza/Legacy/Forester. Remember, this is an inline 3cyl engine. You could possibly boost it. TD04 would probably work. Or the VF-11 from the 91-94 Turbo Legacy. If you buy that car, you should probably just leave it stock and drive it.

as far as I'm concerned potential and justy just kinda go hand in hand. I wish I would have taken a pic back when I saw a red-neck-ized justy in the junk yard, The owner of the junkyard had one with the hatch cut out to become a pickup... Damn rednecks

LOL, like some sort of mini-Brat. That would actually be pretty cool.

/wonders what 04 WRX with backseats and trunk removed as a pickup would look like.

    one word: transverse

the justy is the subaru bastard child. only car with a small 4-lug pattern. they have NOTHING in common with any other subaru.

nobody admits to it (with the pre-'96/USDM ones anyway), but there's no way that any subaru engineer designed them.

One of those would destroy allcomers at the ice races, especially if it was gutted. I want one!

yea, out of the 8 in the west metro area ;)

every other subaru ever made has dozens of interchangeable parts with other subarus. the only exceptions (other than the justy) are the alcyones. but in both cases there, they were trying out new technology that most of the time was put into more common use later.

that's just not the case with the justy.

seems like alot of money...but I suppose that uber low mileage. that DOES have potential. lower drag coefficient than a C5 vette, lighter than virtually any other subaru, identical engine layout to any other subaru (except the justy....case in point), ideal for an engine swap.

downside....EA82t = 100% crappiest motor subaru has ever made. ok in stock form, scrap metal when modded.

still, they were never made on a scale comparable to any other subaru.

or.....none were worth fixing. they failed, and were crushed....end of story
