I need some advice...I need to cancel my service without paying the $200 fee. Please don't reply with some stupid **** that it is part of my contract....I understand this...and don't care. They want some proof of me living where I said to be living (canada in the next month, which is a complete lie) Anyone here work for sprint?
hate to say it...they do^ but I hate the customer service they provide...I always get into an arguement with them...
good service area and good recepetion but horrid customer support. I know someone who works for sprint, next time i see him i will ask about this.
wasn't there a news report recently that said sprint dumped customers that called customer service on average of 25 times a month? edit: article http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,288635,00.html
9.99 unlimited text/picture/video from Tmobile compared to Sprint charging $20 for WEB (picture/video) and $15 for unlimited text
I had sprint and it was great but they fell out of the money for minutes game so I switched to AT&T and it was great, it went to cingular and that sucked. I am now a frustrated sprint hater. I have what they say the best phone in terms of reception and well it blows. I have to call most people twice because the first time it does not connect. I dropped a call on 494 (would like to think they have good coverge there) today and many other days. I even went into digital roaming (wich I got charged for) in eden prairie at my house. so sprint sucks, cingular sucks, I hear tmobile and verizon sucks. all in all cell phones are not that great, you just have to find one that works the best for you and deal with the BS that comes with it.
^^ Well said... You just need to figure out what is more important, price, coverage, cool phone, brand name, whatever. I have had T-Mobile for over 6 years and have been extremely happy with how much they have improved over the years! Like a million times better then when I first signed up... They also have one of the best networks in Minnesota which is important for me, since hey I live here! Network data speeds are fastor with Sprint or Verizon, but for price, reliability and customer service T-Mobile has done the job for me! I love my Blackberry Pearl even though it is just EDGE, but still the best phone I have ever used! As far as getting out of your Sprint contract... Well, good luck! Not sure what you can do about that...
just don't sign one to begin with...lol...That's what I did...instead of getting the free phone + 2yrs. sucks...just paid for my phone out right...and then they offered me $50 credit if I sign up for a 2 yr. I said " " and walked away
I'd pay extra to not put up with all this BS in the long run...I can cancel anytime I want BIOTCH! Sprint pisses me off before...when my contract need to be renewed they wouldn't give me another incentive compared to NEW Customers...So I said F this...I was gonna sign another contract like a new customer anyways y can't they offer the same deal to me...Just doesn't make sense... Now Comcast is another story...They won't give me the same price on the promotion for 18 months...after 18 months I cancelled and went with Sat Cable and DSL and pay the same promo and then 6 months later Comcast wants me back...BS Now I get the all I want for the same price until I decide I want to quit... this is getting me going...lol back on topic now...lol *vent*
And here I was ready to jump on the band wagon as I cannot get a signal at work (basement of the office) current provider Cingular (At&t). Not alot of options these days or are there. Would some put a short list of other options, options other than a 2yr contract for Cell phone providers.
SERO is the only way I'd go to Sprint. Outside the Metro their coverage stinks, phone selection isn't the greatest and customer service was rated the worst out of everyone. The only shinning light they have is their data network which is by far better then the rest.
I know that they had a deal a couple of months ago when they raised their TMs to .15, supposedly that was a loophole where you could get out of your contract. I would check out the forums on sprintusers.com . Someone should be able to point you in the right direction.
^^^ yeah the timeframe for that loophole is long gone. Sorry to say you are pretty much stuck. Threads that I have seen on Sprintusers or Howardforums with people trying to get out of ETFs don't usually end well.
call sprint retentions first (i thinkg there's a list of direct numbers somewhere on the next, look on slickdealds forums). Say that you're unhappy and thinking about switching. Call a couple of times and chances are that you'll get some part/all of the stuff you want free/low cost. And switch to SERO if its still available.
What kind of proof, I did this with verizon a couple years ago, and all they wanted was a address, which I gave them a real address to a aprtment building i found online and they accepted that. But maybe they want a utility bill or something official.
for me to get out of cingular I need to send them a copy of a utility bill with my new address on it.
^^ exactly, lucky for me, I have a buddy that lives up in Canadia, eh. He is going to send me a copy of his utility bill...then with my mad photochopping skillz i'll add my name onto his bill.....**crosses fingers**
I think maybe you should stop talking about this on a public forum. Not sure if it is illegal or not but thinking generally not a good idea. Just a suggestion.
