Anybody?? Ive been hooked on it latley. Ive been watching the show "The Ultimate Fighter 3" on Spike. Man that show gets me all pumped up  Tito Ortiz FTW
Heck yes! We have been following the ufc pretty closely fora couple years now. If you haven't already done so you should order a live fight. the next one has some great fights.
I might do that if im at home. Tito vs. Shamrock right? Should be a good fight, I know Tito beat him before. Ive been watching UFC vid's on google vids all day
I generally tend to watch UFC nowadays, but didn't like it when it was in the gracie spectacle days where it was essentially a bloodsport pitfight. tito ortiz is a big joke. He almost got freaking hammered by forrest griffin, who isn't even that great of a fighter (he's a bloody human punching bag). I stillthink that that split decision was BS, tito lost but since the UFC did so muc to get him back, they let him get over on Griffin who could still maintain cred with a split decision since he's seen by many to be a reality tv star rather than a real contender, which he will probaly be in the near future, especially after nearly maulting tito. I don't know what fight the judges were watching there, but I'd give the win to griffin on that one. I honestly cannot wait to see ortiz get owned by ken shamrock. Ortiz is a professional wrestler type moonlighting in the UFC. He's tough and cocky, but he'll still get knocked the f_ck out by shamrock or liddel whenever either one feels like it. He ran away from liddel already and when he finally came back liddel absolutely destoyed him. I've never watched any spike TV ufc stuff. just the PPV's. A group of friends always gets together for each ppv and has a party.
MATT HUGHES is my man..... Tito I thought was a punk until watching Ultimate Fighter and seeing that he has grown up along way... I think he is a bad ass and will kick Shamrocks arse... SHamrock like Gracie should have stayed out... with the LEGEND status.... only difference is Gracie is amazing even after his loss to Matt Hughes.... My bro in law's friends are having a party for the next one I think... also he had one for the Gracie Hughes fight... awesome
Im really new to wathcing the UFC but from what ive seen on the show Ultimate Fighter Tito is the man, he seems to be an awesome trainer and way more down to earth than Shamrock will ever be. I've seen lots of small clips online of Tito and he can really woop some ass, im really eager to see what happens when him and Shamrock fight again!!
You must have missed UFC 40, his last fight with Ken?? Cause Ken sure wasn't kicking ass in that fight.
Is kinda boring when they gettin in the floor, and all you see is huggin and grappin and such. Who's is the champ?
Shamrock was a mess in ufc 40, he wasn't in shape to fight. I'm sure he'll be a lot more ready this time, that wasnt the best part of his career anyhow. He's old and shouldn't be fighting anymore, but i just hate ortiz, regardless of how a reality show portrays him. Watching arlovsky get knocked the f_ck out in ufc 59 was hilarious though. damn that looked embarassing.
Ortiz is a cocky SOB, but I love it! It makes for much better entertainment! I like this clip the best  http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6178484605103864557&q=tito+ortiz
Yeah, I thought Arlovsky was going to kick some ass. That was a very dissapointing fight. I was also pissed Forrest lost.
i started watching 2 years ago when i worked at hollywood video. i rented all of the old videos.. the first one i actually saw was ortiz's first fight. some guy was sick and he was just some random guy they found that was willing to fight... he destroyed the other guy. but near the end he lost in a submission
Alright, this is my take on it. I've been watching MMA for the last 4-5 years and have consistently followed major players like UFC and Pride. Most fighters usually fight in smaller arena's like KOTC, WEC, etc. to earn a spot at UFC or Pride. IMO, UFC has always been a step lower than pride and whoever does really good in UFC, ends up in PRIDE (for financial reasons). Recently, UFC has raised their bar and I have seem some great fights. I think Tito WAS a great fighter when he was almost invincible, but he has always had problems with conditioning. Ken on the other hand, has good conditioning but is not in the MMA game anymore. He is a good fighter and I have all the respect for him, but i think he is going to lose just because his time has passed. Just like Gracie (who i think WAS one of the best fighters in the world). Also, Dream, Ken owns/works in one of the most premier and highly respected gym called Lion's Den. This team is known for producing one of the best fighters in the world. Ken is just very proud and straightforward -- I cannot put this any nicer. As much as I hate Liddel, Tito cannot touch him. However, I would love to see Rampage (Pride), Wanderlei (Pride), Nogueira (Pride), etc to KTFO Liddell. Arlovski VS Silvia was one of the saddest fights for me. IMO, Arlovski is a great fighter in the making, as long as he can fix his glass jaw. Silvia on the other hand is a joke. Arlovski is always in good conditioning, has good speed, has good ground game, has good standup game, etc.. basically all the ingredients needed for a champ.. now compare that list to Silvia  For anybody that is not familiar with pride, please do a search for the following names on different video sites : HINT Google Fedor, Crocop, Wanderlei, Rampage, Kharitinov, Sakuraba, Gomi, Dan Henderson, and many many more. Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that this is all my opinion. And opinions are like honda's.. everyone has one. Also, I still like UFC, it's just i prefer the fights at Pride.
I've been watching the "best knockouts" from Pride on putfile, myspace, etc. and man it's so good to see them all in one compilation and in 8 minutes length. Watching UFC and Pride makes me all pumped up, too.
I used to watch ufc way back in the day when it was just guys off the street knocking each other out... and tank abbot laying on people until they gave up. Its come a long way and is still fun to watch (in a different way). Gotta agree with beeloo tho, lots of really impressive fighters in pride and lots of scary "dont want to spill that guys drink" guys in ufc. Genki Sudo is fun as hell to watch too. He's like the japanese mma version of Prince Naseem Hamed
Yeah ortiz vs shamrock should be a pretty good fight, I hope shamrock wins though, Tito is just way too cocky for me, he needs a lesson or two in some ground and pound
anyone seen the fights of Bob Sapp....??? frickin huge black guy....somewhere in the 400pd I think range one of them a smaller (230pd) asian dude whoops his arse... funny as hell... http://www.metacafe.com/watch/76306/pride_fight
I'm a big fan of the MMA, so here's my .02 Ortiz>shamrock - I used to really dislike Tito, because of his cockyness, but watching this season of the ultimate fighter, it seems he's not really a bad guy. Opposite for shamrock. I never used to mind him, but he just seems like a total tool on the ultimate fighter. Silvia>Arlovski - I don't know why, but Silvia is one of my favorites. But I'll admit Arlovski probably has better skills. Their last fight was kinda disapointing. Hughs>Gracie - Gracie just doesn't have what it takes anymore. Because the ground game has become more central, the compatition is better equipt to defend his style. I think back in the day, no one really knew how to fight against him. I'm not trying to take anything away from him, he was very good.
Silvia won it went all 5 5 minute rounds pretty much a slug fest nothing too exciting I'm sure they will fight again.
I taped the fights.... I had a few guys over and watched in on my BIG tv.... Tito slammed Ken bigtime... under 2 mins fight was stopped.... should have been allowed to go longer but truly after 5 elbows to teh head unanswered and no intelligent defense effort it was rightly stopped before Tito made Ken a vegetable... the Silvia / Alovski fight was pathetic... I almost fell asleep... Arlovski stayed on his feet instead of taking it to the floor... trying to prove he doesnt have a weak chin I guess... but after many htis in the chin he did but didnt prove him to much of a fighter like int eh past.... Arlovski is dangerous but sucked last night... Silvia is long and lanky but can fight.... Alrovski didnt deserve to get the title if he won (he sucked last night) and Sylvia shoul dhave had it taken away on principle... (he sucked last night too).... thats my .02 worth.... the first fight of the night was messy... when I say messy I am saying it looked like Joe Stevenson had a knife and was cutting his opponent in one corner of the octagon.... ewww.... but his opponent showed true grit of a fighter and never gave up even when it was stopped.... great fight...
Yeah, I thought all the fights were a little dissapointing. Everyone I wanted to win did, but it wasn't all that exciting. Didn't live up to the hype.
Arlovski did not move forward as he had problem with his ankle/knee. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news.asp?n_id=5015 The highlight of the night for me was the announcement that Wanderlei will fight Chuck if Chuck wins the fight with Babalu. As most of you watch UFC and are familiar with Chuck, i'll spare his introduction. And if you want to know about Wanderlei then watch this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7916410443363363881&q=silva or this http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7898261287440386697&q=silva BTW, for the guys that watch pride. Their PPV was awesome. Semifinals/finals are next and I cannot wait....
I can usually be found at BDubs on fight night, maybe the next one we should take over a bar, or buy it ourselves.
Here we go... UFC 69: Shootout is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The event is currently scheduled for Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. UFC 69: Shootout will be the first UFC event ever held inside the state of Texas. Georges St. Pierre will be defending his welterweight title against The Ultimate Fighter 4 welterweight winner Matt Serra. Josh Koscheck has confirmed that he is slated to fight top welterweight contender Diego Sanchez at UFC 69. Sanchez defeated Koscheck by decision in the semi-finals of the original Ultimate Fighter 1 series in the middleweight division (as with all TUF bouts prior to the finals, this was an exhibition bout and is not on either fighter's record). Main card * Welterweight championship bout: Georges St. Pierre vs. Matt Serra * Lightweight bout: Roger Huerta vs. Leonard Garcia * Welterweight bout: Diego Sanchez vs. Josh Koscheck * Middleweight bout: Mike Swick vs. Yushin Okami * Middleweight bout: Alan Belcher vs. Kendall Grove Preliminary card * Heavyweight bout: Brad Imes vs. Heath Herring * Middleweight bout: Thales Leites vs. Pete Sell * Welterweight bout: Marcus Davis vs. Pete Spratt * Welterweight bout: Luke Cummo vs. Josh Haynes
Very nice. I love seeing the guy's I watched in the "Ultimate Figher" fight in the real fights, good stuff. Kendall G. and Josh H. are pretty good fighters.
We usually rent out the big banquet/party room at Turtle's in Shakopee for UFC. Lots of seating, and a staffed bar.
I'm not actually shure who pays for it, but just a ton of locals show up. There's usually at least 60-70ppl. Good times.
