Has anyone used this product? http://www.subaruwrxparts.com/products/5mt-transmission-snout-repair-kit-nonturbo-p-979.html or here is a another site. http://www.tarmac-usa.com/index.php?productID=420 I have been looking at it and all i see is a sleave for the thrust bearing to ride on... not sure if its worth $135.00 to $145.00 thank you Richard
I have used them before on older jeep tranys, basicaly they ride on the pilot shaft to give the thrust bearing a flat or parallel place to press upon then the sleeve or collar presses on the fingers of the pressure plate. some bad things and some good. never really seen them eliminate any clutch judder, that is a combination of 4 things (incorrect clutch lining material, finish on the flywheel, pressure or worn splines and the disc is getting hung up). in short it is a cheap fix for some one who is to cheap to look at the real problem, IE worn pilot shaft, worn flywheel, weak or incorrect pressure plate for the clutch disc being used, also some clutch disc have a finish spec the flywheel needs to meet and don't forget the $8 pilot bearing.
