    Ever launched your car before?

LC is for suckers who can't

But seriously, look up Launch Control.
There's a few threads on nabisco about it.

Nuke I told you already I suck at launching haha. +1 for the outstanding step-2 sound also.

I don't like launching hard. I roll into it to give the Fail-wheel-drive honduhs a chance, then still walk away. :D

That being said, I still wouldn't mind launch control if I did ever track my car.

I know some 07 STI's tuned with LC enable have run into compression issues.

    UTEC has a LC system
OpenSource, one has posted his patcher, but a few have said to got it to work, but haven't released it.
There is another kit you can buy to give you LC

I'm going to say that there is a high probability this was due to the tune, not LC. '07 STI's are notoriously hard to tune due to the higher flowing heads/turbo and injectors running at high duty cycle.

I believe Jorge does not want to enable LC on the 07 STI, because of it causing problems.

Some tuners have enabled it on some, but I believe they ran into problems.

    Same here.

He enabled it on mine. Albeit with a strong warning that he holds no responsibility if I use it and car assplodes. It's probably only on there bc that's the base map he's working off of.

Seriously tho, launching these cars isnt that difficult. Learn some clutch control and practice soft launches on low traction surfaces... slip the clutch faster if you smell clutch and slip it slower if you feel driveline shock.

I think it's so wanted because LC builds boost. You can't do that just launching on your own.

Spot on. Some of the national tuners have even re-tuned the 07s they did at no charge to help correct some of those issues.

I used to use it when I had the UTEC in the WRX. Was able to build 12 lbs of boost on the line. It was more for fun at the stoplight to confuse people. One time I lined up in a 3 way with a new GTO and Rustang and started boosting it. The looks on their faces were priceless :eek3:. I never launched it at full boost. 1-3 lbs is more than enought to spin all four and not shock the drivetrain.

If you do use it make sure its an injector cut instead of ignition cut limit. I messed with the ignition cut just for the flames and ended up fouling all my plugs :hsugh:.

Ask Mike Wray what happens when you run anti-lag on a car that can't handle it :ugh:

right. My response was directed towards tux and well, the rest of us that will never really need it and are better off not using it bc for the most part...

If you don't have a LARGE turbo like Dream, and others... :cough: Fobia :cough:, then you shouldn't need it to launch with boost. Simply revving the motor in pulses should get the turbo compressor spinning pretty good, and allow you to launch with some tire smoke. It takes practice, but I've spun all four with some smoke on a stock TD04. Tuned by WOTV, of course...

<----- master of the launch w/12-15lbs of boost. smoke all 4 tires for about 10ft and gone like the wind. launch control = push the brake to the floor and the gas to the floor then lift off the brake.
