Hey just picked up another vehicle for my brother to use yesterday. It is an Audi S4 with the 2.7t and tiptronic. It seems nice. This stinks but my first question is does anyone know an experience audi mechanic that wont charge an arm and leg cause we have a cel on and would like to see what is wrong is how much is would be to fix. This stinks but I did a little research after picking it up and damn, they cost a lot to maintain it seems like. I know there are very capable guys in this forum that knows cars, but not many of us want to touch an audi or volks. Any help or suggestions is appreciated. Thanks guys

okay, thanks guys! from what i can tell the audi guys are like you guys and they seem pretty nice and helpful. I think I have been to that place before Steve but it was a very long time ago. I have buddies that owns volks. I'll check them out. I will also check out midwest too but it is a little bit more of a hike for me though. I thought I remembered someone on here specialized in european cars or is a mechanic but can remember who though.

I have 2 Audis. I was smart and stayed away from the turbo ones...

You should try the MNAudi forum... think this one, but for Audis! www.mnaudi.com
Another shop is Imola, it owned by Audi mechanics from the forum. It has adds on that site. I'm stick on there also. Good luck!

Have AutoZone read the code for you - it's a no fee service they provide.

Is there some kind of law that protects buyer from buying a bad car? like a three to four business day thing? Does anyone one know for sure? The lemon law, as far as I can see, is only for 75k miles or less cars and a certain age.

I know the potential of me being sol is good but am waiting to see what or if they are willing to do anything about it. I would like to do business with them again but if this goes sour then I wont or recommend anyone to them.

I have also owned 2 Audi's and they are a b*tch to maintain. I had a 93 Wagon that needed front struts, blower motor, and tail lights. I'm sure I dumped at least 700 into it. I currently have a 1990 V8 Quattro (240hp) that is a fun car, but I will never buy an audi again, unless I'm rich enough to afford to fix one! Subarus for life from now on!!

A friend of mine has a couple Audis and knows the people that run this place: http://www.ap-specialties.com/ They are supposed to be excellent and great to work with. Also they are located about straight west of the twin cities.

You might want to check the threads about AP on the mnaudi website before you use them.

This thread brings up a great point, why do people ask for advice and ALWAYS seem to do the opposite of what was advised? WHY did you take it to the dealership?

cause they wanted to check it out and confirm the problem. They also said that they would "try" to help us our which they only tried to rip us off even more. I tried complaining to them and they basically said I'm sol in a nice way.

Also Erik, I did not bring it to them to fix. Like I would never bring an audi or any make to a ford dealership to fix. I brought it to them to see if they would even try to help me. I have called many places to check on prices and what the shops recommend and I am an mnaudi member now too. So I an trying to do my research but there are many more people that are more knowledgable than I am, that is why I am asking for advice or even opinions.
