I am thikning of takin the cats off my car (they are shot and ratle alot) i am wondering will it change my cars classification (mostly stock, w/ suspensin mods) by removing them?

any input, is it worth getting a universal cat put in?

That takes you directly to D Street Prepared or Street Mod. neither ar favorable at all for your car.

if you do add a universal cat as long as its approximately in the same place as your stock 2nd cat you should be ok for Street Touring Sport. If you have aftermarket springs you will need to be in STS at a minimum anyways.

If you hve removed interior stuff, thats going to bump your class. Keep in mind that pretty much the only things that are stock legal are stock size wheels with any tires, any shocks/struts you want, any front swaybar you want and any catback exhaust you want and that is really about it.

i am planning on SI. i am a total noob to autox. i just wanna go and have fun. but i am trying to keep an eye on what mods i am doing so that i wont get tossed into a legue where i will get crushed (prolly by zak lol).

    so far my mods are:
    cone filter (oem intake plenum)
    under drive pulley
    STi pink springs
    AGX Struts
    FHI 20mm RSB
    rear strut bar
    and will be catless soon.

how long can you run SI for?

you can run in SI until you win it, then you can never go into it again. Usually when someone asks for classing advice I tell them what open class their car would be in then suggest doing SI. a lot of people who leave SI are pretty stunned to ind out that their cars may be fairly highly classed for fairly small things.

Everything on yout car is legal for STS except not havaing cats. STS requires at least one cat in the stock location for the 2nd cat in a subaru.

Go SI and enjoy yourself, then think about what class you want to run. ALWAYS good to see more Subies out there.

Yup. IIRC, a set of intercooler hoses alone will bump a WRX into ESP.
