I'm new to MN Subaru, coming from Phoenix. Grew up in the Twin Cities and left shortly after college. 9 years later, I finally found a job back in the great white north, so I'm heading home. I'm new to Subaru (less than a year), but I do have some experience working on cars, posting on forums and racing. I have an '08 STi I absolutely love. Picked it up last summer to give me some more versatility in a single vehicle, and it's done everything I've hoped. Hard to beat a vehicle that is a monster on the track, plays great in the snow and has 44 cu ft of cargo space to haul stuff. She's lightly modified. Springs, sways, endlinks, SS brake lines, MOTUL 600 brake fluid, short shifter, CAI, and AccessPort. Also have a set of track wheels/tires, but you will only see those on race days. Pads and rotors are next, once I see how much the move sets me back. Here are a few pictures of my baby doing Subie things. Though I just realized none of these pictures were taken after the mods, so she's a bit lower and much flatter through corners now.
Welcome to MNSubaru.com and welcome back to the great state of Minnesota! Sweet lookin STI. Check out the MNSubaru Events forum for weekly meets.
Bump for a fellow 08 STi owner, driver, and someone who tried to leave MN and came back! Hope to see you at some track/autox events this year. Feel free to come out to some of the meets - tonight is the next Tuesday night meet and will be at Old Chicago in the Har Mar is Roseville (there is a thread under the Events section). As soon as it warms up more, we will be heading to Lake Calhoun for the Tuesday meet.
bduncs: I actually don't have any pics of my car with the new springs. And nothing else is visible normally. A buddy here in Phoenix wants to drive one of the mountain roads before I go (weather has been perfect here, 80s for a high), so I'll see about getting some pics then. On a separate note, I broke down and bought brakes. DBA 4000 rotors front and rear and Autozone pads (I'll swap out race pads for track days). Should be here by Friday, so I'll have fresh brakes for the road trip!
