    Laser jammers aren't federal.

Hence the word "radar" in front of the statement.
Laser jammers are illegal here (and technically are classified as "radar jammers" under the statute for MN) 169.14

    woops.

well first off I meant 494, but hit 3 on my blackberry keypad instead. my bad, sorry guys. it was east bound 394 by ridgedale mall. there were about 10 squads participating, all minnetonka markers.

I didnt realize this was going to turn into a cop bashing thread. They are watchdogs, and sometimes it takes packs to stop speeding in an area by setting an example. I dont quite agree with all of the tactics sometimes, but it can be a pretty successful operation at times. Entrapment? I havent heard of a person getting a ticket in minnesota for anything under 10 over in quite a long time. The officers I've dealt with have been very lenient, and if you get caught in a speed trap, especially one with WELL posted speed limits like 394, I dont think entrapment is quite the right wording. I think the comment, "its your own damn fault/the law" comes to mind...

I dont like speed traps, and just didnt want anyone from here to get snatched up for a hefty fine. that section of 394 is real smooth after the re-pave and I notice myself speeding up because I dont hear the road surface anymore.

Hope everyone was able to avoid the tickets.

Never, evar tell the cop he can't give you a ticket for 5 over. Because then he will.

I believe Scorpion makes a radar jammer, but that would be very bad to get caught with that! Laser is regulated by the FDA. Either way, you get caught with one, and you're getting a ticket.

Yes, though the FDA does not ban Laser jammers.

Correct me if i'm wrong but there was an undercover Black chevy Aveo highway patrol car with no markings crusing down on highway 94.
Seems like i'm going to have to stay at moderate speeds.

    Its possible.
I've seen a number of mopar minivans and suvs unmarked.
MN does have limits on how many undercover cars can be used for traffic.
CA is better (as they are in all non-emissions traffic laws) as they ban the use of unmarked cars for traffic enforcement (except maybe DWIs. This does not mean an unmarked car can't pull you over, if just can be actively seaking you and judges do take it seriously, a city had a year of tickets tossed for this a couple years ago).
