my car is an 06 wrx tr, 13,000 miles and I was driving all day yesterday with no problems, I parked it in my non heated garage overnight wich stays at about @ 36 deg. I started it up in the morning, let her warm up for about 7 min....

Then I left my house, ambiant temp @ 8 deg, no noticeable problem untill I hit the HWY, then I felt a strong vibration comming from the passanger side of the car, so I pulled over to a gass station to check tire pressure, I had good pressure on all four corners. Checked my brakessmoe ice on the rims.

    My question is.....
-is there some common spot where snow or ice could get hung up that could cause this?
-would a drop in ambiant temp cause a tire bulge?

-can ice build up cause this much imbalance?

Yes, snow in the wheels and/or around the suspension will cause this. Tires can also become a bit unbalanced if sitting in the cold and will feel like crap when you start driving....until they warm up.

In your case though it sounds like snow/ice build-up

you might also wanna have someone to inspect ur tires. i had a problem with my tires. i forgot what it call, anyways there was a thing poped from inside the rubber to make the shake.

    It's called a separation, and it's bad.

Yes, ice will definitely cause your vibration issue. After tearing through icy lots here in Roch my wheels' inside was packed with ice. Any travel above 30 was shaking the whole care. Very massage-like.

Just spray down the wheels, I'm sure there's just some snow stuck in there causing the wobbling.

If you find that there isn't any snow/ice accumulation in the wheels, it'll likely be a popped off wheel weight. A tire service can help with that such as Discount Tire.

I got as much snow off the tire as I could and the vibration is greatly diminished.

    SMILES!!!!

I had the same problem yesterday. Drove all day saturday and built up some snow in the wheels, I guess it settled over night after the brakes melted it a little and it refroze. Sunday went for a drive and it was like driving on a washboard. Since I had to get gass, while I was at it, I pulled some large chunks of ice from the front wheels and pushed the snow through on the rears. All better.
