I am thinking going for BC racing coilovers or Megan Racing for my 08 WRX. Mostly for dd and some autox in the summer. I heard mixed reviews about coilovers on the dd car any suggestions? I was considering going 09 WRX shocks/struts with some Tanabe GF210 STI springs, but it will cost as much as a coilover set. Any experince with BC or MR coilovers? Thanks, Max.
I have BC coils on my car, drive it daily even in the winter. So far they've been great. Only thing to note is that they do get really stiff when it's really cold outside, but still very driveable on a daily basis. the damper adjustment does make a big difference, they are super soft when running full soft and rock hard when they are turned all the way up. They are not track super stars, but they are ok. For the money they are a great value, but it really all depends on what you're looking to do with your car. I would recommend them personally, I don't know what other people's experience has been. You are more than welcome to come over and go for a ride.
ive got the MR coilovers on my 03 wrx wagon. great for the price and a lott better than the stock ride.
H&R non-adjustables. Bilstein dampers ftw. They are well matched to the spring rates they come with and a cheaply rebuildable or revavlable for very cheap.
My old STI took first at a Windom Corvette AutoX event. And I had MR on my 240sx. I have found there is not enough damper in these and the car does not settle very well when you're trying to corner fast. I've tried various settings and did not make much difference. Now since switching them with BR Inverted I can dive into the corner at rediculous speeds set the car and rotate very quickly with the throttle including consecutive corners or S turns. The car felt a lot more balanced and found more grip on the same track and tires. My experience so far for my needs BC BR Inverted are alot for the money. The BC Racing G35 took first in Time Attack with Inverted and Xternal reservior series.
