^YES!!!! Too bad its over already.

IPA's, EPA's, and ESB's separate the men from the boys. Bell's Two Hearted Ale ftw. I need to get my hands on some Surly Firecracker. I've heard its so hoppy it'll knock you on your ass.

We've got a couple Maibock's at work (OC) and I'm not a big fan myself. They have a weird finish.

Fat Tire is good but I like 1554 better.

Yup, Fat Tire doesn't hold a candle to 1554. IMHO, Fat Tire is one of the most overrated beers out there -- it's what the n00b "dark" beer drinkers start out with and rave on and on and on and on about how good it is. What they don't realize is that their past experience is based on piss Bud Lite and the like. lol.

One of my favorite standbys is just good ol' Red Hook ESB.

Its actually from Belgium. More like a European Budweiser to me.

We typically serve it with a lemon, but whatever makes it go down. IMO, Fat Tire isn't bad, I just like more bite. I like some of the Octoberfest beers that come out in the fall. They tend to be a bit hoppier.

Then again, my favorite beer is the one thats in my hand right now. Meaning, I'll drink whatever. The best of the best and the dirtiest of the dirty. Gotta love the Champagne of Beers ;)

yeah i've been to the brewery in luven belgium (where stella is made) and honestly its uber euro crap though duvel is awesome and chimay also awesome. Most of the beers that i like aren't found in the US cause they are all made by monks in belgium and they can't export cause they make sucha small amount

Last time I was out in MD I went to Dogfish Head to try 120 Minute IPA through the Randall tap. First of all 120 is 20% ABV so it's already lethal but then its high alcohol content grabs loads more hops as it goes through the Randall. It's like drinking carbonated citrus zest with malt.

I also frequent the Brickskeller in DC when I'm there. They often have a Randall tap for one of their IPAs. They also have something like 1000 other beers to try. Seriously.

I went up to Denton to BBQ with the natives last night. My mission: bring beer. I picked up Shiner's Bohemian Black Lager and some assorted Leinie's (since I occasionally find it on sale down here). Food was whole free-range chickens smoked with mesquite chunks and a cheap Mexican beer can in its butt and these beans that were to die for. At least this sort of grilling environment here offsets the lack of good brats available in the grocery stores.

Just got done wolfing down a giant NY strip, grilled over hardwood charcoal, with a massive baked potator on the side...washed down with a couple of Summit extra pales.
I usually go for a chuck eye or rib eye for my steak, but this strip had such beutiful marbling, I had to get it.

I have a recipe for a mushroom salsa that goes excellent with steak that I may post sometime.

By the way, no one in Australia drinks Victoria Bitter. In their words, "it's piss." Some of the other brews there, were really good. Just not VB. :)

VB, the bogans' beer of choice!

Yeah, I've noticed no one drinks VB (or XXXX) much here, unless it's all they can afford. Carlton isn't too bad for a cheap beer, but the microbrews are much better. Mmmm, Little Creatures Bright Ale.

Oddly enough, you can get Corona almost everywhere, even way over in WA. I actually bought some for a for a little taste of home this week. ****ing $60 for a 24pk. Just had some with the tiny ass steak I had for dinner.
