No I don't blow glass I keep blowing my driver side fog light. It maybe lasts for a month or 2 and then burns out. Same one everytime. Anyone have any ideas? Its an australian fog light as well...not sure if they're any different or aren't compatible with usdm. Any help would be much appreciated thanks, - Justin K.
hi-lite industries 9007 12V 65/55W Xenon Superwhite Xe's. I tried the sylvania silverstars or whatever, and they went way quicker than the Xe's I buy off ebay. I figure it's gotta be something with the wiring or fuse or something. I also wonder if the aussie fog light in there is wired different or requires different wattage/voltage. It's getting annoying replacing these bulbs. I'm very careful when replacing them as well...I don't touch them with my greasy digits or scrape them. - Justin K.
I found the cheapist replacement bulbs work best for me and all my cars. Can't help you with wiring issues.
being form Australia I am not sure if the vehicle wiring is different as far as voltage.. I am sure it is still 12volts...??? I kow the house stuff is 240volts and hurts in Australia.. ha haha
another note, silverstars are some of the worst quality bulbs out there, and they don't last very long at all. I'd check for moisture in the lens, I'm still running my stock bulbs in my fogs and I have them on everytime I drive.
Moisture in the housing? Do you see any condensation behind the lens when the lamp is cold? Sometimes it helps if you operate the lamps on maximum for an hour or so (to get them realy hot and all the water vaporized) then pull the bulb out in a warm dry place and let it cool for about 20 minutes to let the insides dry out.
agree, i have the osrams on my car and they are the best for the $$$. they only come in H1, H4, h7 though.
I had my foggies off to put veil on them and I didn't notice any moisture in them or cracks at all. I guess I can take em off and blow dry em'!! The ones I get off ebay are like 30 a pair...so It's not that expensive, but changing them every 2 months is reallllly annoying. And if it continues to be a problem, it will become expensive.
