ok well im sure i will get the nay sayer telling me to search but i've search and can not find a similar situation. I just recently installed a prosport mechanical boost gauge. after installing it my friend and i went out for a test drive and to my surprise i was only hitting 10psi + or - 1 because i figure the gauge is a little off. now i know i have a cobb stage 1 ecu tuned for my intake but i was confused at how its only reading 10 to 11 psi. As ive read in other posts i believe it should be around 14-16. i've also read about the valet mode thing but as far as i know that does not apply to the cobb ecu. im almost positive there is no boost leaks because the car runs like a dream. is there anything im over looking or anything im missing in this debockle? any suggestions/ help would be great thanks Drew
If that is your boost in like 3rd and up then something is wrong but in first gear that is normall if I remember correctly
Try loading the boost in fourth gear getting on the freeway and report back with the results. I assume this is a WRX?
What car? What model year? Are you running the most current AP map? Where did you tap the boost for the gauge?
.. welll my deal is i baught the car, oh yea ps its an 03 silver wrx wagon. from the minnetonka dealer and when i was givin the previous owners phone number incase i had any questions i called him to get the full scoop on the car. he goes on to inform me he had baught the most current Cobb ap and tuned the car according to the intake. when he traded the car in i guess the dealer decided to keep the ap and not tell me that there was an upgraded ecu soo i kinda got f'd over. but i think now that i was able to do a few free way runs i noticed that in first and 2nd (its an auto...) it only goes up to about 10 psi then when i was on the freeway it would go to 10 then jump up to 13-14 so i guess im alright... i just wanted a boost gauge to make sure it was running good and just for a reference for when i do future mods.
