I WAS gonna say "old news" as I had this recall done already...then I read the whole story and it looks like I will be going back again.

WTF is going on with all the recalls? Apparently every auto maker is afraid of becoming the next GM. Maybe they should just recall everything and give them all a good going over.

Or just not become the next gm by just recalling things when they are breaking instead of trying to hide from it?

you know its pretty sad that im learning about this in my forum and not at my dealer... i haven't heard one word about this from anyone: subaru techs, advisers or reps. kida scary if you ask me. granted when i do the legacy recalls i haven't seen a single one that has actually leaked.

Not unusual. I saw announced recalls for our Escape on a forum a few weeks before I received the mailing from Ford. I suspect the media gets their information from the government agency in charge of tracking this stuff once they are notified by the individual car manufacturer of the intended recall.

i guess that does make sense since the media is always trying to stir the pot and what not. i guess im going to be doing a lot more brake line recalls.... hope that its like the legacy and a full brake line replacement is very few and far between.

:thumbup:This has been out for a few months now but it was just on the news a few days ago. Because of the heavy use of road salt in the midwest the recall is to inspect the brake lines and replace if needed. Not a major defect in my eyes but that is my take away from this. So wash your car in the winter. **************D
