Not overwhelmingly interesting, but remotely. The pad on the right is off my Volvo S60R. The left is a stock WRX pad.
The interesting part is to remove the S60R pads, you simply push out 2 pins that slide thru the top of the pads, remove a spring clip and they pull straight up and out. The caliper stays in place. This is a factory Brembo setup on the Volvo.
    Anyway, thats the excitement here.

yeah same on every 06+ WRX and every STi and every other brembo car too.

you have an s60R? Why even bother with the WRX the s60R is a hotter car, faster and generally all around better. I love those things.

I once saw a chipped s60R out autcross several wrx's and STi's with 4 people in it.

Sadly, kind of, the volvo went away yesterday. I replaced it with the LGT. The volvo was just way too expensive to mod. Kinda took the fun out of ownership for me. This is the only brembo equipped car I have ever owned, so it was new to me.

my buddy has one and it is unexpectedly fast. From a stop I can pounce on him, but from a roll we're neck and neck. This was before my Stage 2. But, if he modded his, i think he'd have me. His only problem, as you've stated, is that they're too expensive to mod. $1200 or something like that for a Downpipe...eek! ECU upgrade $1300 or so...ouch. Still a nice car though. He drives the crap out of the thing at the track and puts up really respectable times...beat me at one of the events. his car is the reason for some of my go fast parts...I hate loosing.

Oh, yeah and I too love my Brembo's for changing out pads...about the easiest setup I've dealt with. I'm down to about 10 minutes or less per wheel.

Thats the way it was when the wrx first came out. My tbe was $1200, and that was the cheapest of the 3 available. The other 2 were well over $1500.

It's too bad really. The S60R would be a nice sleeper to own. For my buddy's sake, I hope the parts stay expensive:) No, just playin...it would be nice to see it in fully modded form.

It was a great sleeper, very few people knew what it was, especially after de-badging. Mine was the 6M too, the power came on real strong...just not off the line.

    selling that car = mistake.

I love those things, no matter how expensive a TBE costs. Still thats about what it costs to work on anything european these days, not especially expensive considering that market.

my buddy debadged his and put a Porsche "Turbo" badge on it...it actually looks pretty good. Next step, he wants to remove the R from the grille...total sleeper.

I should have finished my statement...it looked good for a turbo badge on a non porsche car. As you can see, it's only noticeable if you're really looking.
