What is a good brand for brake pads? Looks like i am going to need new ones pretty soon. I am not planning to do any motorcross or anything like that. Just good pads that well last long. It is for an 02 wrx. Thanks
If you buy Hawk pads, check to see if your WRX was early 2002 or late 2002 model. I ordered a set of pads, it was not the right ones. I returned it and got some Raybestes, I think that's how its spelled. Anyway, its ceramic, at Checkers for $45, or something like that. Works great for daily driving. Hope this helps.
Raybestos.... I used to sell them.. not impressed.... the higher grade that you bought are ok... but there are better brands out there for similar pricing... if you want longer lasting talk to Frozen Rotors.. I htink they cryo treat their pads??!!?!?! clarify that someone
I got one of the sales man ask me that too when I was checking pads for my 02 the other day but I didn't get it. Is there a way to tell by the VIN# or something on the car?
They cryo treat the rotors, not the pads. The pads they sell are typically off the shelf Hawk or Carbotechs IIRC. The rotors themselves will last longer and are much more warp resistant.
I just put on a set of 'Satisfied' ceramic pads from Checkers. The rears cost me about $42. The fronts shouldn't be over $65. Very clean pads, no real brake dust to speak of.
suprisingly the endless pads give less brake dust for a peformance pad...but again it does cost a little bit more for it...
Axxis Ultimate!!, cause they sound cool...LOL Well I've order a couple for my bro-inlaws. Heck I dont even know how they compare to other pads, but I herd they are pretty good.
Well the Axxis Ultimate are design for racing..so of I guess you are gonna get a crap load of dust...LOL Go with the Axxis Posi Quiet. They are the sever duty pads, design to last, and not produce as much Dust. Like they always say you get what you pay for...so try to find somebody who can hook you up with discounts!! LOL:biggrin:
