Okay guys. I had a cable company install cable last year (for TV and internet), and they left an entire box of catv cable at my place. I called them to have them come pick it up several times, but no one showed, and they didnt express interest in wanting it back. I forgot about it until now, as i'm cleaning house in anticipation of my move, and need it gone. I wasnt aware it was such a high volume, or that it had never been used. I got ripped off on my cable bills, so this is my way of sticking it to the cable company. SPECS: (this is all written on the box) TYPE: CATV CONDUCTOR: 18AWG FOOTAGE: 1000FT/305MTR COMMUNITY ANTENNA TELEVISION CABLE SERIES 6 60% NEC 820 CATV Its all in a fancy "Time Saver" box, which makes it a LOT easier to work with. I figure whoever brings me $30 first takes it. This is more than enough to wire your entire house, and is $100 below what you'd pay retail.
sounds good. I wont be around friday through sunday. I'm heading up north to do some grouse hunting. I'll be down by firestone visiting some friends on monday or tuesday, so depending on where you live, that might be a good spot to meet up.
That's not true. I've got over 1000 feet of dual RG6 (= 2000+ feet total) in my sister's house. And that's on the main floor alone!! (We're trying to weigh it down in case of a tornado. Or we'll actually use the wire for TV stuff. )
Foo, I'm a Yang too, whut whut!!! Fine, if you want it, take it But by friday, if it's still around, it's mine.
That's a lot of wire. Hope your runs aren't over 125 feet otherwise you could run in to issues. Looks like copper clad RG6 with a 60% braided shield from the info given.
Hey guys, I moved the wiring discussion posts to a new thread in OT. http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?p=349593
the wire sold to predavore. there was a hell of a lot less wire on the spool than I thought. It had been used before. Oh well, he still made off with 400 ft of wire, and I got a few bucks out of it. Done deal!
