Looked at some old posts but couldnt really find anything discussing in dash nav...

I am lookin for something that will be a double din with nav and ipod

I came across the Alpine IVA-W205 and it seems to be really rock solid.
I know I have to purchase the gps uniti seperate, but I found one a kid has in town for a good price... Anyone have any expeience with these? Any suggestions?

Also, just gauging interest on getting some new speakers. What has been sounding good to you guys??

    Thanks!

I have the 505 and love it. The nav sucks, but everything else is great. Alpine really needs to do a nav update. The maps are out od date (I am running the p-1 nav).

    Russ,
Does this unit have built in nav or require the blackbird?
Or is the p-1 essentially the same thing as blackbird?

The blackbird is the stand alone nav (like the little garmin units) that can also plug into the head unit (behind the screen). The p-1 unit is a nav/blue tooth unit that only works inside the deck. So no screen, can't pull it out and use it hand held, in stays inside the deck. It works pretty good, but on more than one occasion I have had to use my cell phone for directions. Really, it just needs a update and it should be good to go. The rest of the unit more than makes up for the lacking nav. I also don't use my nav much. Most times I know where I am going.
