Well I am thinking about a new deck for my 2006 WRX Limited. I have already decided I want to go with a single den deck. I know I will need the pocket to fill the rest of the space, and the proper wiring harness. The main question I have is, with my stock 6 speaker system, do I need a special deck for all 6 speakers to work? Seems all the specs on the ones in my price range say 50x4 and I always thought that meant 50 watts goin to each speaker in the typical 4 speaker stereo system. I really like Pioneer, and was looking at this one:

I am trying to stay at or under $200 if possible, and want something with a USB input and an AUX input. Any insight, tips, or personal preference on other deck options would be great. Thanks in advance.

The front speakers are paired. It is basicly a 4 speaker system, but instead of a dual range front, they have a mid and a tweeter. There is only two pair going to the fronts. You will be fine.

Ah, yes. That makes sense. I wondered if maybe the aftermarket harness would pair them if they weren't already. Thank you.

they are already paired at the back of the deck, so the wiring harness you get will be all ya need. i guess i should say, that it splits at the speaker not on the deck.

Any one here know if my KICKER ZX-750.1 amp would work to hook up to the speakers in my car? Or is it only for use on a sub? It says it is a "mono-channel" amp, which means nothing to me haha. I obviously wont be hooking it up to the stock speakers, but if i were to replace all of the stock speakers with a good, quality, high power speaker set up, would the amp be able to add more power to them? I don't understand electronics a whole lot, I just know this amp kicked ass when hooked up to my L7 lol.

Ok, I did some digging and found the manual. I'm pretty sure it is only good for powering a sub, and that's it. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Mono= 1 channel, pending on the RMS rating for that I would be willing to bet money you'd blow your speakers. What front speakers do you have? I have alpine type R 6.5" components with an alpine 2 channel 250w rms amp for the fronts and running little 4" alpine type s' in the rear just off deck power and a 12" alpine type R sub in the hatch with an Alpine MR-500 amp for just the sub. (yes I am very biased towards alpine I know because they had a killer sale going on at a local audio shop) I found that most the sound is going to come from the front speakers so for cost effective reasons I only amplified the fronts. I would also recommend running an AGM battery too, my lead acid ones didn't last nearly as long as they should've (still under warranty though :) )

Nice. Well in that case, the amp is goin up for sale. I don't plan on running a sub any more. Planning on replacing the stock deck, and the stock speakers for better sound quality, and calling it good on stereo mods. Thanks for the help.

Oh, and to answer your question about my current speakers, I assume they're stock. But not positive since I haven't looked yet.
