    i drive a 01 impreza rs @ 106XXX miles

i'm having a bogging issue. it started when this season started getting cold. during the spring i was bogging due to oil leaking into the spark plugs, so i got the VCS replaced. it ran fine over the summer. and then this cold weather comes along and my car starts bogging again. i checked my spark plugs to see if any oil was leaking and its not. so whenever i drive it bogs here and there. then yesterday on my way home from work (5PM driving in the rain) my car started bogging like crazy. whenever i step on the gas it bogs and picks up speed little by little, and at the same time it backfires. i mange to get home. then this morning i started up my car to see if would bog/ be able to drive. it wasnt bogging, so i decided to drive it to work. as i hopped on 52, it started bogging again, i got off the highway, let the sit and it kept on wanting to die, so i turned off the car. 10 mins later turned it backed on and it was the same, so i drove it to our family business and left my car there while i took my dads car to work.

    so my question is,
whats causing my car to bog in this cold weather? or whats causing my car to bog so much?

    COILPACK? FUEL PUMP/ RAIL?

everything is stock except for a short ram and custome exhaust from the previous owner. i have a check engine light on, but from the last time i checked it was from the secondary exhaust o2 sensor because they didnt make a hole for the o2 to go in/read.

    anyone have any ideas?

    NEED HELP... :(

Not with backfiring bilkface... Did you get new plug wires when you did the valve cover gaskets?

I would recheck your codes and see if you now have misfire codes also. Could also be a bad front A/F sensor.

cam and crank sensor? fuel pump? if it was bogging I almost wonder if the pump was on its way out...
