:hsugh:When I first turn on my car it runs for about 2 mins then starts smoking white and smells kinda weird like I've been racing but I barely race my car and its sitting on idle. It smokes enough where it doesn't seem normal but not overly smoking bad. Which is weird cuz its warm out and it shouldn't really be smoking. But after you drive it for about 5 mins or so it doesn't smoke no more. I don't think its piston ring cuz when I open oil cap there is no smoke coming out. So I'm thinking its the turbo? I'm just running a tdo4 with 3"turbo back. Car pulls drives fine. Please let m know what you think?

What kind of smoke? Does it smell sweet? Is there a blue tinge? Help us help you.

Be absolutely sure of the color. It is important. Is it white or a pale blue? Try to get a look at it in strong sunlight. White means you are burning coolant (and may smell sweet like piddster said). Blue means oil. Check your oil cap for any frothing and your coolant for any oil on the surface of the reservoir.

My 2.2l was doing something similar to this. It would be 90*F out and I would start my car up after work and it would fill up the whole parking lot w/ whitish/blue smoke. After the car hit operating temp it stopped smoking. I decided it was piston rings and just swapped out the motor for a more powerful one ;-).

Is it smoking alot or just alittle?

Be sure of the type of smoke before you start taking parts off your car.
