You don't need anything more than that at moab.
First time I was in moab was on a trek 930 with an indy XC with solidified elastomers (and if you don't remember the days of ****ty elastomer forks, I'm going to feel old, and I'm not old), good stuff.

i'm sorry, I was too busy laughing to write a response any quicker.

    a) I haven't personally attacked him here, sorry.

    b) his going away thread was just little more than a personal attack on me for something he was whining about months beforehand. If he wants to sit there and say whatever he wants about me, I'll certainly give him crap for being whiny about leaving forever and then quite amusingly coming back like 2 weeks later.

Why not? Even less use for a big ring on a 29er than a 26er and it is typically run 1x9 or SS so the basher serves a dual purpose helping with chain retention.

yeah, not saying it's bad idea or what not, I was trying to visualize when it would actually come in handy. I don't run a triple up front either and have a big bash guard, but it's a freeride bike.

It is handy, to me, when going over logs or up ledges. It's all about the clearance Clarence. It's also nice not to have to worry about the big ring chomping into your calf. In fact, unless somebody is a XC-razorboi I always recommend replacing the big ring with a basher.

When does it help you on your FR bike?

like you, when hitting logs, etc...at speed. Or landing from big drops on uneven terrain. Not having the 3rd chain ring hit and having the bash guard hit instead gives much more confidence

    hahah
for someone who is "all about the lolz on the internet" I think tis funny you can't see the humor in a big dramatic i'm out of here thread followed up by coming back 2 weeks later.

It really puts into focus the reason why he did it: he likes attention.

Ain't no law against responding to people who act like major jerks to me, sorry. I am a person, I have opinions. I can respond in whatever threads I want. I don't have to "let it go" when someone makes serious judgments about me and frankly, i don't want to.

i was glad he was gone. I don't care if he is your friend or not. You can drop it too if you'd like to stop trying to be my personal internet police.

I like forums that have the perma rule for "I'm out" posts. It should be a general rule. Make a "burn bridges" post, see-ya, because you obviously don't want to be here any more.
