I just got an email back from Seibon, today saying that their cf hood is actually heavier than the stock aluminum so i called them to double check and same thing.........? What the? I thought carbon was lighter......anybody know of a guaranteed lighter hood manufacturer, other than the fiberglass ones............? Maybe its just Seibon, I really want to change out the hood, but not at the expense of weight.
It is true..I have a STi CF hood from Invidia for my 04 WRX and it is heavier than the stock hood...All of them are same
So im pretty much out of luck then huh?..............should i go with fiberglass or what? Dang, does anybody even make a kewl looking fiberglass hood?
When I bought the CF I was thinking it would be lighter...But it wasn't. Best bet, is to keep your stock hood...Your Stock Alumnium hood has the best fit and weight. If your going to do anything "Cool" use your stock hood...*Paint job* black...
Yeah I guess i'll just have to do that, I'm kinda runnin into problems with lighter wheels too, the BBS are so friggin light I've only been able to find a few sets that are lighter...........but aftermarket wheels look so much better..........anyways if you know of any let me know....... thanx for the help bro......peace
SSR Comps & Volk te37 are both panty droppers that also tip the scales at less than 13 lbs each for 17".
I think the rota's are lighter but im not so sure about the gram lights or the Volks, but if anybody can send me a link with some wheel weights for 17's vs the BBS's, i'd be all over it.
