Has anybody had any experience with any of the cheaper off-brand exhaust systems selling out there? For example, you can get a dirt cheap downpipe and catback combo from ERZ off ebay right now. $380 shipped! What is difference in this stuff in comparison to the good stuff? I am assuming lower quality bends and rougher welds, but what else? Performance gains? Fitment? Sound? Durability?... What's the deal?
my suggestion would be to go with an erz up and down pipe. Then go find a used name brand cat back. i would be scared buying a generic brand cat back because you have no idea what it is going to sound like.
I have an ERZ cat back on my 02 WRX. In a matter of a few months I will have the up and down pipes on as well. I think the sound is great, it has a deep and throaty sound. I have a video but I can not send it via email, or post it anywhere. I have no idea why.
Be careful if you have an automatic, its a mich tighter fit for the ERZ downpipe. In fact it touches the tranny slightly
I can build you a 3in cat back with some mandrel peices welded in.. if you want to know what it is like come by the store and hear mine...
I have the a full ERZ turbo back exhaust and it is awsome. such a good deal for money. sounds really nice as well. welds and seels are great too you should buy it
